There is a channel on YouTube , Robin Seplut, a man that feeds street cats from Russia. He mostly feeds them boiled chicken ( a lot of), with an ocasional raw meat. I don't get It, he could feed the cats better with actual cheapier cat food like kibbles , or maybe even canned food. Boiled meat takes nutrients away that cats need, they need all the nutrientes of a raw meat. I have tried asking , but he doesn't answer. So what are your thoughts? Is that really problematic, or am I missing something?

A diet of just meat, whether cooked or raw, lacks the essential vitamins and minerals a cat needs. Supplementation is needed. Raw feeders here on TCS use a pre-mix or individual supplements or include bone and organs and liver in the right amounts to each meal.

It's possible the Russian street cats are catching mice and other small prey and are getting nutrients that way. The boiled meat is probably more like a treat to them. Commerical cat food may be hard to find in Russia.

I know Just raw meat isn't enough. Pretty sure what he feeds is a full meal for them, not Just a treat.

Are they stray cats that live outside, or are they indoor only. If they're stray they are probably supplementing their own diet with birds and other food that would complete their nutrition requirements. If they are indoor only, then it's definitely not a balanced meal and his cats will eventually feel the effects of that.

They live on the streets, they look very hungry.

I watch Robin's videos all the time and had no idea he was a man.  For whatever reason I thought Robin was female.  Regardless of gender he's a saint.  Some of the videos are so depressing it's tough to watch, so even though I'm very familiar with him I had no idea he only fed boiled chicken.
