I rescued this boy a week ago, he's semi-feral. He has an ulcerated eye, antibiotic treatment didn't work so now we are looking at enucleation.
My one boy Tux had his eye removed for around $500 2 & a half years ago. The vet is quote me $700+ upwards to $1000 for the surgery.
Crazy expensive! I've tried calling around but many vets won't even give me a price quote. I'm trying to find a way to afford it :/

I have a cat rescue group and my vet charges me $100.

Many times I have allowed someone to send a cat that was not with my rescue but in need of help, to go to my vet at this cost to help the cat.

It's so great of you to help them, that you need to find a vet and or a rescue or shelter who appreciates this and will help get the surgery he needs.

Locate all rescues and shelters around you and email them all, addressing the email to you, and bcc the list so nobody else sees who all you sent the email to.

Write a nice letter about him and his background, and tell them the quote amt you were given, that you simply can not pay that kind of money but need to help this guy out.

If you're really lucky they may send him to their vet at no cost, but it may be they offer their cost through their vet, which is a big help too.

Good luck on this!
