Hi, I have two kittens, sisters, almost one year old. They came to us as feral babies so we had to guess on their birthday. But we think they are May/June babies. We have been feeding then dry Iams kitten food, and fancy feast pate. Well one of them is growing steady and is skinny, not too skinny, but she's always been a tiny little thing. Her sister on the other hand...not so much. She's starting to look a little rounder. Lol I'm pretty sure they eat about the same amount, always together for the same amount of time. They are strictly indoor, with not a ton of exercise, but they do their mad kitty run every morning. We give them a pint of dry food at night and we were giving them a can to share in the morning, but just started giving them their own cans. Am I over feeding? Are some cats just meant to be fat? Help, I don't want her to get unhealthy!

I wouldn't worry overly unless your vet says something at their 1 year checkup (kittens are nearly impossible to overfeed), but switching the Iams to a grain free food (Taste of the wild is a grain free food that shouldn't cost much more than what you're already feeding, if price is a concern) would probably help, and certainly will be healthier.  Also, be sure to stick to the classic line from Fancy feast (the fancy feast classics are grain free (and very well regarded for the price/availability), but some others that they make them aren't)

Is each cat getting a pint of the dry food or are they sharing it?  (pint = 1/2 a cup right? I'm not too sure, lol)  If they are each getting it, I would maybe try to increase the wet food and decrease the dry food a bit, at least for the rounder cat, as dry food is higher in calories.   Also, assuming they are spayed- sometimes their metabolism will slow down a bit after the process so it's possible that happened to your rounder one, but not the skinnier one.
