Sweet Bonito

One of the stray cats I feed has developed a crust like around his face. He scratches a lot and in some parts of his face he has broken the skin. His entire head including his ears is like he has a heavy dandruff.
What is this? Is it dangerous?

Please take your cat to the vet. It could be ringworm- or something worse. Things like that are usually very contagious...

Bonito had Mange and he was being treated for it but two days ago he got ran over by a car half a block from mt house. My neighbor saw him and told me.
I'm devastated, even though he was not my cat, I have been feeding him for 11 yrs (his age). I had him neutered and always took care of him even when I did not have the money to do it. Now he is gone. I have been sleeping in my family room for the past two nights looking outside to my back porch thinking that he is going to come back.
It is hard, very hard.

Vinny, I am so incredibly sorry to hear about your loss. I had a kitten pass away in November, and I still think I hear here collar next to my desk chair while I am an typing.

Bonito was SO lucky to have you care for him even though he was an outside cat. I'm sure he felt like he had a home with you....

The poor dear- I'm glad he had a long life at least. I hope you consider helping more Bonito's that are out there that need loving homes like yours...
