Hey guys, my cat Mak has been diagnosed with small cell lymphoma, which originally was the better of the news because there is an 85% chance of remission. But unfortunately he has been struggling hard with any recovery. He had emergency surgery to remove a mass blocking his small intestines and a month and a half later is still struggling to eat or put on any weight. We had an etube put in recently, and are using cerenia once a day, but he still seems to have issues processing the food, sometimes vomiting up to 2-3 hours after, never earlier.
Anyhow, I was curious if anyone has any experience using cannabis oil to treat cancer in their kitty? I haven't asked my vet yet, because it is sunday and I'm trying not to pester him every day, but will ask on Monday. I'm very curious though about possible alternative treatments. He is currently on the standard prednisilone and lukeran, but we are currently unsure about how much these drugs are helping. My vet has mentioned switching to some other types of chemo drugs soon, but I am wondering if chemo at all is really going to benefit him at this time. Or if it is the steroid that isn't helping him (he gets luke once every 4 days, but the steroid every other day, and he seems happier on the off days).
Any advice or info about other treatments for small cell lymphoma would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!!
It's been a rocky, muddy road. Hoping to find stronger footing soon.
