I cannot get a straight answer from Google. Found this on the carpet. I have 3 cats and I'm concerned.
Cats can, indeed, contract Lyme disease, just as they can contract Anaplasmosis and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever from ticks.Maybe a sheild bug, not a tick cats don't get lime either
From PetMD:Lyme disease is probably not a concern for cat owners. Although the bacteria that cause Lyme disease is capable of infecting cats, the disease has never been seen in a cat outside of a laboratory setting. However, because Lyme is potentially quite severe and is common among humans and dogs, it is wise to know how the disease is transmitted and what the signs of infection are in your pets.
Another tick-borne disease cats can get is ehrlichiosis.Even though it is uncommon in cats, lyme disease is known to be one of the most common tick-transmitted diseases in the world. Caused by a bacteria spirochete species of the Borrelia burgdorferi group, its dominant clinical feature in cats is lameness due to inflammation of the joints, lack of appetite, and lethargy. Some cats develop kidney conditions, and rarely heart or nervous system diseases.
