Earlier this month our original free roamer Casper got a skin infection, I took him to the vets got the shot, the clavamox pills and brought him home. He healed, then it came back, so went to the vet, got the shot, got the pills, doing great right? Well... we think he brought home a viral infection from the vets office, now all 14 of the indoor cats, and two of the indoor/outdoor cats have gotten it. This is hard since the indoor/outdoors don't like to use litter boxes and pick fights if they can't go out so... I have separated the indoor/outdoors into their own rooms, away from the others but with each other. Went back to the vets got more clavamox to help with the symptoms that the cats are showing. All of the cats have wispy breathing, and runny noses, sneezing, coughing, and now just in the last day vomiting. They are all eating and drinking water, no more or less than usual. I am wondering if the clavamox may be making them vomit, as it was not a problem before they went on it. Any experience with this?

I'm sorry, but I haven't had any experience with this.
But I am sending you and your cats get better vibes and I hope that everyone will get better soon!

Clavamox can sometimes cause vomitting or diarhea; if it's disagreeing with your cats, tell your vet and she'll probably prescribe a different antibiotic.

Tell your vet ASAP. I wonder if they're all continuing to pass the thing around by drinking out of the same bowls and using the same litter boxes. Maybe it'd help if you put out 14 different bowls and litter boxes

If your cats truly have a viral infection, then no antibiotic will work. Antibiotics work only work on bacterial infections. Antibiotics can cause diarrehia as well.

The vet actually told me that the antibiotic will help with the symptoms but not the cause. the cuase jst simply has to run it's course through thier bodies. We started the meds because there was a fear of pnemonia setting in since the cold is based in thier chests. But everyone is doing a little better now, not vomit in about 1 1/2 days, but I think we'll keep the furniture covered for just a little longer, just to be safe. :-)

We normally have 15 boxes and about 9-10 water bowls out. The boxes get done every day and emptied out completely about once every 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. We have even started to contain them to eating areas so that they donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t share food. (Hard with so many)
