I have had this car for 7 months and have put $1000 into it, it has been in the shop more than in my driveway, and still owe $2000.00 on it!!!And I start a new job Monday! And the dealer won't hear anybad news about it he don't care, all he wants is his money!I just got it back from a garage,he found a bad starter, bad strutes, and a realy wierd wireing problem, someone has cut a lot of wires and re-routed them!and there a shortes (sp)everwhere! And it would cost way to much to re-wire the whole car!He had to change the starter at a cost of $200.00 and it stalled on the way home! After I got it started again I kicked it and hurt my foot. !

I really don't know what to do now.

Sounds like my car
What kind is it? Also, you should learn to do some work on it yourself. I change my starter at about 40 bucks a piece. Yeah for some reason my car likes to eat starters. Well Ive gone through 3 in the year which is outrageous.
Also the reason your car stalled is not the starter. Its used when starting and thats all. No more.
Wirings not too bad at all. Go get a Chiltons or Haynes manual, and it should include a diagram showing where all the wires go. They are a bit hard to read at the start, but youll learn. Then all you need is a soldering iron, some solder stuff, and electrical tape.
Struts too are pretty easy. As long as you can get under the car whether it be by jackstand, or lift, its just a simple bolt off, bolt on procedure.

Brandon

it is a 1995 Chey. Lumina It is not worth putting that much money into it.What are you driving and fixing so much? You want to buy a used car? You can fix it .I don't have a grarge or the tools. or a husband who will do the work.He works a 50 hour work week.

Sherral, one of my co-workers was in a similiar situation about four years ago. They were looking at used cars, found one they liked, had it checked at an independant garage and were told it was in good condition, so they bought it. It turned out the car wasn't in good condition after all, and they had to spent a couple thousand dollars on parts and repairs. Eventually, they replaced all the bad parts and haven't had any more problems with that car for a very long time.

I agree with Cougar, it would really save you a lot of money if either Ted or your sons could do some or all of the repair work themselves. The only thing you would have to pay for is the parts.
