2 days till it's March!  Spring is on the horizon!  Or fall for folks in the Southern hemisphere.
I've been seeing robins, my daffodils are sprouting and one of the tulip varieties I planted last fall has buds sprouting. My neighbor's have a ton of daffodils already blooming.  I also spotted a pink dogwood tree in town bursting with pink blossoms.
The weather has been great!  My kids have been outside riding their bikes, digging in the sandbox (and dirt
) and sleeping hard.
We have a few nights in the forecast showing the temperatures being close to freezing.  But hopefully next week I can uncover my rhubarb too.  This will be the 3rd year I've had it so I'm hoping we can harvest and make some PIES!!

What kind of sheets do you prefer to sleep on?

I looooove soft flannel sheets for the winter.  Not the scratchy/pilling kind; but soft brushed flannel feels SO good!  My Grandma kept those on the beds year round when I was a kid.  She always kept the central AC on so they weren't too warm.  I recently bought another set because we only had one winter set of sheets.  I normally wash and put them right back on the bed; but the day had gotten late and they were still wet; so I put another set on.  I was SO cold that night! My feet were freezing.
I wore socks to bed the next night.
Now we have our new sheets and DH says the bed is almost too warm.  But it's so soft I don't care.

In the summer we have a couple sets of sheets with sateen type finishes. They are smooth and comfortable.  One is the Threshold brand from Target and the other is their Fieldcrest Luxury.  Sheets can be so expensive; but I really notice a difference getting a little higher thread count. I've found some on clearance before.  I'd rather have 2 sets I love than 4 sets I don't.  We have upgraded the size of our bed twice since we got married so we've had to start over with our sheets twice too.

I prefer flannel in the winter and linen in the summer. I have yet to find a linen set I can afford-I have 100% thin cotton ones for summer. I sweat in my sleep and linen is so much better for those of us who run hot. I have an old linen sheet I use all the time in the summer. Especially for us side sleepers who need something between our knees. It's got a few holes and I don't care. Wasn't cheap either.

I don't care what color they are. I just want the texture to be something I like. it has to be 100% natural. Nothing synthetic.

Fleece for cold weather. Don't know how we ever lived without them. So warm, soft and comfy. Cotton in summer.

Cotton, or a good cotton blend with high thread count. I like the sheets to feel soft and smooth.

I like flannel but find it too warm to sleep on.

Flannel, all year long. Smooth sheets are too sticky. I would probably like linen too but linen linens (;)) are too expensive.

Cotton year round.  I need to be cool when I sleep.  If I am too warm I will often wake up with a headache and feel as though I hadn't slept.

I like 400 or greater thread-count cotton.  I still have hot-flashes so it has to be something cool all year long.

I have to buy king-size fitted sheets. I only like white bed linens & so long as the sheets are cotton I don't worry about thread count.

Soft flannel sheets for winter, so warm and comfortable.  Cotton for summer, DH and I despise heat and humidity.

...with the cats...
i prefer either microplush or flannel sheets during the cool and cold weather months, and cotton during the hot weather months. with the exception of the most hot and humid nights, i must sleep with a blanket -- light weight in the summer, and multiple blankets and a thick comforter in the winter. it's the raynaud's. there have been nights during the hot summer months that i've woken up shivering, feeling freezing. i've wondered whether i'd been dreaming about the cold......

I love Fleece sheets.  I use them year round except the 2 weeks in August when we hit 80 - 90 degrees.

Flannel in the winter and cotton in the warmer months. I prefer higher thread counts.

I haven't bought sheets in quite a while because we have been having the "Do we upgrade our bed to a king-sized" debate for years now.

That's pretty much us, too. The higher thread counts will last longer and they're way softer.

That "king-sized bed" debate has been going on in our house for a long, long time.

Blankets! Big thick fluffy blankets. One underneath, one of top, then a thick wither quilt, then an old blanket on top of that for the cats to lie on.

It's too cold to think about sheets yet.

Yes- get the king. I have one just for the kitties and me. I could never go back to anything smaller.

I like flannel and microfiber sheets. They are so soft. The cats approve too. We have 7 pillows on the bed and they love to curl up on top of them or in between them

If it would fit better in the room, we would already have one. :lol3: We have a fairly large bedroom, but the way the windows and closets are set up it's hard to put the bed on another wall. If we get a king, one of us would lose a nightstand. Since we both like to read and want lamps and have glasses, etc we put on a nightstand, it gets tough.

Husband has always insisted on a king-size bed. He also insisted on a 2-sided mattress, which is a huge pain in the bum to turn over twice a year. I can see the day coming when we can't manage it.

That's one of the best things about using Kindle. The device is backlit so no reading lamps needed.

@AbbysMom, @Winchester

For the king size bed I say DO IT!  Our room isn't huge but man it's worth it!!  We also have a good memory foam mattress. No flipping required.  I don't feel like it's too hot either. But there are gel cooling things that sound interesting.  Sometimes I love our bed but I have periods when I wake sore so it might not be for everyone.  (Too much staying in one position does that to me so that might be the problem; not moving in my sleep.)  They are supposed to last much longer than traditional or pillow top.  We got one with more "cloud foam" than the Tempurpedic brand and I think that helps me since I like my bed on the soft side.  The bed we sleep on at my in-laws is SO hard I dread sleeping on it.  DH loves it.
He loves our bed too.  We've had it 5 years and I notice no wear on it.  DD's bed is 4 years old and even with turning I can see the dip where she normally sleeps.  But I will say going back to an inner spring mattress feels very weird after the memory foam.  I notice the "side to side" motion when I get on one of the kids beds or especially when someone else gets on with me!  It's like "woah am I on a ship!?"

We were at almost every furniture store in the area this weekend looking for a bedroom set for DS.  I noticed some nice, narrow night stands out now.  Also beds with smaller foot boards; which I would need in our bedroom at least.  DH and I still have that "college" look going on in our bedroom.
We have no headboard, and every other piece of furniture is 2nd hand.  2 I've had since childhood myself.  DH says maybe after my car is paid off in a few months we can get ourselves some grown up furniture. (Ok I added the grown-up part.
)  I want something solid wood that we won't want to upgrade in 5 years because it's chipped and dinged like these particle "man made" things are.  Cheaper isn't always better right?  But for now I'm still browsing for DS.  His mattress and box spring are on the floor and he has a safety rail because he still sleeps all over the place in bed.  But it's time to get him a normal bed so we can store toys (especially LEGOS!!) underneath!
I want to get him a night stand also; but hopefully narrow so it blocks less of the air vent than DD's does.  There is always something in the way of arranging furniture!
