Hello everybody,
I have just joined this forum after a few days reading other posts.
My name is Antonio, from Italy. I have two lovely but elderly cats, both taken from the street.
The first one is Lola, born May 2000. She's very bond to me, she never leaves me for a second. I found her when she was only 10 days old, I bottle fed her and she recognises me as her mother. He has always had a bad luck for health. She was diagnosed CKD when she was only 6 yo. Then she was found with a cancer inside her nose at 11 years of age, and was treated with radiation therapy for 4 weeks. Last year she was diagnosed with a rare disease that was taking her away from me, but we managed to recover her with a highly risky and very invasive surgery. Now we're fighting, and losing, the last battle against a squamous cell carcinoma in her mouth.
The other cat is Pallina, found when she was around 8 months old. Until last summer she never suffered from anything, but now she has hyperthyroidism in the apathetic form, that means that she's not constantly hungry, she's not hyperactive or edgy or aggressive, she the exact opposite.
I wish I found this site earlier, I could have written my thoughts and asked for tips when I was in a bad mood and felt hopeless.
See you soon!
