Cat suddenly doesn't like one flavor.

Hi all. I have three cats who eat about 8 different flavors from two commercial raw brands. Lately my youngest cat seems to be refusing only one particular flavor. It is unfortunately the flavor I feed most often, as it comes in larger portions than the others. I usually get about half of that one and half of all the other flavors combined.

She has just left her kitten growth spurt and is eating much less in general now than she was, but it seems she'll eat maybe a single bite of food in a day on the days with her non-preferred flavor. This has been within the last 6 weeks.

Has anyone had experience with this sort of thing? I've heard of cats getting picky if given only one flavor and not wanting to branch out, but I don't think that applies. I'm not sure whether to cut that flavor out for a while, reduce frequency, or just see if her appetite will regulate itself back to normal portions.

I have one cat who will eat only one protein until he gets sick of it, then and only then will he eat something else, and I have a heck of a time figuring out what that something else will be, AND transitioning him to it.  It's quite frustrating.  Then, my other cat needs a HUGE variety, so much so that if I feed him the same thing more often than once every 3 or 4 days, he won't eat it.  Also quite frustrating, because there aren't that many good foods when you are feeding three meals per day.  I mean really, how many proteins are there, especially when he doesn't like duck or rabbit
Luckily I can mix a few together to make up something new
And I can switch between dehydrated, etc.

So what I'm getting at is...I don't know what to tell you
I'd probably stop giving her that flavor for a few days, then reintroduce it and see what happens.  But I'm really just guessing.

Continuing to observe, it might be the fact this one comes in larger portions that is doing it. Usually the others last 2 days, 2 meals for three cats, but the big portions last 5. The last time I opened one, she ate fine for two days and now has ignored her food on the third day. If I can figure out how to break it into smaller portions before defrosting and only serve it for two days at a time that might solve the problem.

Mrsgreenjeans, it's nice to hear someone else having a similar experience so I know I'm not the only one. [emoji]128522[/emoji]
