Kitten had trouble urinating yesterday (sunday) and went frequently. Last nigh there was a little blood.. This morning I woke up and he had explosive diarrhea all over my carpet and his whole lover body was covered.. He is breathing heavy and is weak.

I called the vet immediately and have a appointment in 5 hours [emoji]128557[/emoji] In 5 freaking hours.. They were fully booked so had to squeeze me in somewhere..

I am freaking out and afraid he won't make it..How does a cat get this sick over night. Nothing changed.. He had his vac he got dewormed and was tested (negative) he was a happy healthy kitten.. I noticed a little change in his attitude but didn't think anything about it.. and then yesterday he couldn't urinate. While he was fine the day before that.. I am just really worried he won't make it till the app.
Is there anything I can do to help him. until then??

Try wet his mouth (do not force to drink, just wet) - dehydration is the real enemy in case od diarheea. The dehydration in this case differs from the dehydration from not drinking water. I think it is not the case for me to go to scientific. Just make sure kitten has available fresh (tap!) water to drink.

okay will do thank you.

When he wanted to urinate nothing came out and he would sit there for a couple of min and will go again every hour or so. Today he started meowing while trying to urinate.(Only a few drops come out and sometimes nothing)
I think he might have a bladder infection aswell and the diarheea is not helping to make him feel better.. and the blood in his urine is what made me even more worried

The vet will see. A bkadder infection is something spectacular in humans, but in most cases get treated very easily. I do not know about bladder infection in cats and I would anyway leave it to the vet.The vet will want to know the kitten "story" of getting sick and details about her behavior. He/she may order some tests (or may not, depends on clinical examination results).

Stay cool.

Finger crossed.

I think some electrolytes would help with his dehydration.  If you have a stock cube, mix it with water then spoon some into his mouth.  The salts will help to rehydrate him.  I know that sounds odd but they will.  Poor wee guy, and poor you - you sound ever so panicked.  Take little sips of a glass of water yourself.

Agree with @Brian007  - good advice

Electrolytes will help.  Just make sure you don't overdose, not to stuck the kidney. It is low risk, because you can not forcefully  "feed" the water anyway.

After electrolytes , the cat may want to drink (osmotic pressure sensors). Remember the cats do not see very well close to their eyes, then you may attempt to gently put one paw in water (do not push/pull, try to drive the paw to the water).

If you manage to avoid dehydration (or the cat is calm enough not to eliminate to much water) - OK.

tuna juice usually works for my cats when they're sick. they can't resist the smell, despite they're lack of wanting to drink. drain a can of tuna and give the liquid to him.

unfortunately, if you use a bouillon cube, it usually contains onions... onions are poisonous to cats.. please do not use bouillon cubes!! Better to make your own pedialyte at home. There are many recipes here..

Mix some salt, warm water, add some honey..

you can also try rubbing some honey on this poor baby's gums..

I am very concerned about this little one..

If you have access to goats milk, that is great...

Yes, tuna water is awesome..

Wishing you the best of luck with this little one...

If you are a foster mom, these are good things to know...

I can see why the Vet is very concerned. He is so little and has gotten sick so fast.. ((hugs)) to you.. thank you for taking him in and for getting him medical care.. I am very worried also...

(((hugs)))

I never got back to you guys [emoji]128584[/emoji][emoji]128584[/emoji]. .So he was kept over night and they did tests but could not find anything wrong.. (Shocked).. They gave him back without giving anything.. Said he urinated and pood just fine.. Like what.. The night before he urinated blood and now he is fine.. I did not understand that. I have a feeling the explosion he had might of got rid of what ever was troubling him.

I felt like such an idiot.. I lit. started crying at the vet when i gave him because i was so sure he was really sick. .Our foster program is a non profit one and we dont really get alot of donations. So that made me feel even worse because the kitten had to stay over night and with all the tests. (I dont even want to know how much that costs) ..Im just glad he is fine tho

His being fine is all that matters.  Not the cost.  You did the right thing.  Your fostering can be seen as money saved by the non-profit organisation, so spending some, making sure your charge was healthy, was money well spent.

Thank you for your update.  I've very pleased the little guy is ok and that your stress has lessened.

I'm glad he made it through alright and is healthy now. That certainly seemed like a very serious situation, and I don't blame you at all for taking him to the vet!

The vet said that there was nothing wrong with him [emoji]128584[/emoji].. But he had trouble urinating. Urinated a little blood and he was also really weak/hot and felt like a rag doll ... and he had a massive explosion diarheea . But i think that might of cleared his system.

Male cats are way more prone to urinary issues than female cats. Mine has had a few urinary issues and a complete blockage. Do you know if they tested his urine for crystals?
