I am going away for 2 weeks in August. I'm frantic about what to do about my cats. I have 2 cats with very special needs. Some of you may know them already: Junior is 4 years old, he's had UTD, and fallen off our 4 floor balcony, he's also had Calisis and now has feline acne (which has gotten pretty bad even though we wash his chin every night). Junior has a very bad temperament to other people besides my fiance and I. He hisses and growls at almost everyone. He also hates the vet. Our other kitty is Chloe, she's a baby still only 7 months old. She's pretty easy to handle so far. But they both only drink from the bathroom sinks. No one we know will stay here for the 2 weeks because they know Junior will hiss at them and stalk them while they are here. Our vet at PetSmart has offered for them to stay there but I know they will not be happy. i am very worried because of Junior's acne (which needs to be treated every day) and the only drinking from the faucet thing. Does anyone have any idea what I should do? If you have more questions please feel free to ask. Thanks alot guys. We really rely on this site for help.

This is really a hard one and a Vet office may would be the best .
Are your cats having plastic bowls ? If not I recoment to switch to steel or ceramic . I had some cats with acne and since changing to stainless steel I almost got it under control now .

Yes I know, everyone always asks us but yes they already have glass bowls which we wash at every feeding. He has lots of blackheads and just recently developed 3 big pimples with puss and everything. I even popped one of em!!! Gross!
And yes, I think the vet stay is best although I'm still worried because as I said Junior hates them. When he's there he hisses every time one of the staff gets close to his cage. So I don't know how he'd drink for them.
Thanks for the help though!

He may hate the vets , but he would be in the right care and in case something do happen they would be taken care off .

I see you live in Vancouver! Where abouts? I used to use an excellent pet sitter called Walks n Wags, they do primarily the Kitsilano/Point Grey area. It cost me $13/day but I gladly paid it as I knew that Gus was well cared for. They stayed about about 1/2 hour, did the poo box etc. and played. He loved them and they loved him. There's quiet a few similiar pet sitters around, worth checking into. I have moved out of Vancouver now and sure miss them

I agree with getting a cat sitter. Most are able to give medications and will do as you ask. They will hopefully get used to her or, if not, will avoid her and come out when she's gone. Look in the yellow pages for a sitter and/or ask around. Good luck

Thanks guys. I found some pet sitters in my neighbourhood and am looking into it. I agree that this sounds like the best idea. I appreciate all your help. So do my kitties
