Hi - we all hear about dogs who can e.g. sniff out cancer in people, and a few years ago a story about nursing home cats 'knowing' people would die overnight was disproven, but my cat has shown definite 'knowledge' of there being something wrong (physically) with people and I wonder if he's alone.

Ever since i had a cataract removed (one eye) and new lens implanted he's continued to come very close to that eye (only) for a minute if I come close to his face, and he recently lay down on the arm of a recliner I have - something he's never done before - when a lame (new) friend lay down to nap there.  I almost never get sick so it's difficult to come up with other instances, but I know I'm not imagining these and wonder if anyone else has seen similar things in their cats.

He's a 10 yr old mostly Bombay (no history) from a no-kill place at 5 mos, a very 'sane', bright cat who counts a lot on routines.  He still likes to play with a few toys and runs around during full moons - really, but I don't believe in or look for supernatural stuff - and is otherwise a super wonderful best friend.

Any other cats like him?

Thanks!

You sure are lucky to have such a sensitive and intuitive kitty!

When my husband had back surgery, one of our kitties, Rico, was the best nurse ever.  Stayed on the bed with him constantly and was the best companion.  When hubby started recuperating and was walking more, he'd start up the stairs from the basement and Rico would stay with him all the way.  Rico would run up a few stairs, and then stop for hubby to catch up with him, then go up a few more. It was the cutest thing.

Cats are very sensitive.  I've a Friend who recently awoke in the night and went to the kitchen for a glass of water.  He tripped in the dark over a scratching post which had fallen over, hitting the kitchen floor nearly face first and breaking his nose in the process.  As he lay dazed on the tile floor, all the cats awoke and ran to the kitchen - directly to the cupboard where the canned food is stored, of course -hoping for a midnight snack.

Yeah... cats are very sensitive.

My MIngo is a good nurse, too. He's a very active cat - playing with my other cat, romping around the house, watching birds from the windows. But if I get sick, he never leaves my side. He is right there with me, on the couch or bed.
