I'm aware that there are several threads here about the topic - I've read them - but my question is this. My kitty is suffering from all sorts of allergies - so far, I know it's chicken, grain, probably pork and probably a few things from the environment. So far, her food allergies died down only when eating hydrolyzed protein food, that is, Farmina's Ultrahypo and Hill's d/d. I've tried other brands that have neither grain nor chicken, but she reacted badly to them as well. Thus, I'm looking for suggestions for good quality hydrolyzed protein food. I'll check the ingredients, of course, but I'm not sure which one of the brands I'm seeing online is worth trying out.
Thank you all in advance :)

Have you considered homecooked or raw? I'm not a fan of hydrolyzed proteins at all. They are highly processed and IMO aren't good for cats and you can obtain better results by feeding a bio appropriate food like homecooked or raw that doesn't contain any fillers and isn't processed.

My recommendation would be Rad Cat, which is a commercial raw food you can buy in almost every state, or if you wanted to make your own homecooked or raw, EZcomplete, which is a pre-mix you just add to boneless meat you can buy at the store.

Yes, of course I have and I have been feeding her raw meat for a while. :) However, I'm not absolutely sure what is bothering her, I'm not sure if it's the food or something else. I'm absolutely sure the hydrolyzed protein is fine, this is why I'm asking. She also had a reaction to the Taste of the Wild food, even though it is completely chicken and grain free. :/

I'd like to make sure it's not the food, so I can move on to other sources. As I mentioned, something from the environment is probably bothering her as well, and her anal glands used to be inflamed as well (we took those out last month). Since she has been to the vet too many times, she is also very anxious, so I'm dealing with over grooming issues as well. In other words, I have a very sensitive kitty and she has been scratching like crazy for a while now. I can't figure out what is the issue and I'm slowly starting to go crazy :) I'll try the Rad Cat definitely, thank you for that.

Taste of the Wild has a slew of fillers in it, it's not just meat, and "grain free" doesn't mean that much when we're talking about fillers. All companies do is switch out "grains" for other starchy ingredients, like potatoes, or veggies, which are equally bad for cats. While cats can have true meat allergies, it's much more common for them to be allergic to something in the commercial foods. It's very hard to find a commercial food that doesn't have fillers, there are very few.

You might try a limited ingredients wet food that's a novel protein, like venison, lamb, duck, or rabbit, are good choices.

Ugh :/ Thank you very much. I'm at my wits end, really. Do you recommend any novel protein food? I'm actually quite limited with food choices here, so my only options are foods that can be bought online and delivered to Europe. Otherwise, I'm doomed to Hill's, Royal Canine and Farmina. For some reason, there is a bigger variety of dog food on the market...

You can probably go with dog food and add in Taurine. Usually that's the critical ingredient that's missing in dog food, particularly if you are looking at a novel protein food.  As a matter of fact, I believe Nature's Variety Limited dog and cat are the exact same food, but you can get the DOG food in the large cans, thus saving a bunch of money.  (don't know if you can get them in your country however AND I'm not positive on whether it's the Limited that's the same or not...I know some of the Nature's Variety are identical)

Thanks very much for that. I have discovered a bunch of good dog food I can feed her, that is purely meat and I'll try finding Nature's Variety as well. For some reason, high quality cat food is harder to find here. I appreciate your advice, you really helped :)
