Ya'll!

Hare Today went up on their prices recently. The things that I've noticed and will be affected by are:

Goat  $6.99 - $7.99 = 14%

Pork  $3.99 - $4.59 = 15%

Sheep $3.99 - $5.49 = 37.5%!

Llama $8.99 - $9.99 = 11%

Turkey $3.59 - $3.99 = 11%

Whole Carcass Ground Rabbit $3.99 - $4.99 = 25%!

Wow, the more I look at everything, the more I'm seeing price increases. I won't bore you guys and put everything in this post but we are now going to pay an extra 10 - 40% more on our orders.

Obviously, I want HT to make money so they can continue to run their business and provide me with the food that I need. I'm not going to stop ordering from them but just wanted to make you all aware of the increase.

I know that Tracy has recently negotiated better shipping prices, so you will save a little bit there.

Someone asked about the increase in product prices on Facebook as well:

I think HT's prices are still very reasonable, so a small price increase won't stop me from ordering.  Tracy isn't running a huge operation... I'm sure her profit margins are super thin.

Good to know
I acutally buy HT from a local pet store so I need to check with the store to see if they're raising prices as well. Last time the owner mentioned that she wasn't sure if she would continue to stock HT because most customers were now buying Blue Ridge. Blue Ridge is an odd brand. It's gorund meat and bone with no organs.

I just put in an HT order and saw those increases.  Not everything has increased, and there's a sale on turkey grinds right now (which I took full advantage of).  The chicken organs, gizzards, chicken thigh cubes, and beef/venison blend prices haven't changed.  Ditto for ground mice (trying that for the first time!!!!).

Tracy has held prices constant for several years, so this wasn't unexpected.  I don't begrudge the price increases given how costs are increasing everywhere else.  I'm still paying under $5/lb with shipping, which is half of what high quality canned or commercial raw food costs - and that's with all the wonderful variety thrown in.

Good thing the whole carcass ground mouse hasn't increased, at $13 per lb that's my limit. I'm already considering a possible sample of whole prey mice, it would be a lot cheaper.

Good luck with HT's ground mouse, Mikey likes it and eats it with no problem but I realize it's hit or miss with some cats. The ground quail from HT is his fav. And cavies, sigh ... made my little guy throw up each time, I'm donating the cavies I have left.

Donating?  Where can you donate raw meat?  (Just curious.)
One of the Facebook members / admins from the Raw Feeding for IBD Kitties group, she donated HT meat, frozen of course, to me awhile back which was great since I didn't know if my cats would like HT, before having to order 10 lbs minimum for the first time.
Her cats do well with cavies so I'm returning the favor. We live in the same city.

Well that's a bummer. I've been thinking about trying to source meat elsewhere because shipping is a lot for me.

I never noticed the pricing increases. It just didn't dawn on me. I've been buying since December and sometimes my orders fluctuate by about $8 depending on what's going on with stock and shipping. Then if I have any reward redemptions...
What has stood out is the increase for packing shipments for summer. My smaller orders have a $5 increase for more ice packs, plus like $14 for shipping. So I ordered for 3 months, cut out the $15 in ice packs I'd be buying over the summer, knocked out two $14 shipping charges( because we're talking about what would have been 3 orders) and paid I think $17 to ship this 42 lb box this week. I don't like to buy in bulk but I feel I had to.

There have been another couple rounds of price increases. The whole-carcass ground rabbit is now $5.79/lb.
I saw that! I may have to start ordering 4 months of food at a time instead of 3 to try to save a few bucks on shipping. IF I have room in my freezer... I don't have much though, that's for sure.

I'm also starting to order 55 lbs at a time, to save on shipping and also not have to worry about price increases for a couple months. Just wish I had placed my order a couple weeks ago... lots of items have increased in price, by about $1/lb.

Yikes! I've had HT in the back of my mind, it's good to know I'll have to check prices.

The prices just went up again. If I am not mistaken the whole carcass ground rabbit has gone from $19.99 per 5 lbs. to $21.99 and now $27.99, 5 lbs boneless turkey grind is now over $20 organs are still the same price. That jump in price for whole carcass rabbit is a mighty big jump .Ugh.

Organs have increased in price as well, by about $2 for the 5lb size.

Doriman, I hadn't noticed. I buy so many different kinds of organs and, never the 5 lbs chubs. I hope the prices don't continue rising at a fast pace. I would miss HT

Could it be the increase for rabbit is because of it being summer? I seem to recall the HT representative (Tracy?) saying that it is difficult to raise rabbits in the summer because they don't tolerate heat well.

Very well could be. Meat prices at the grocery are also seasonal. Stock up during slaughter season(s).

I occasionally consider raising meat rabbits, but they do not do well in the heat.
