Good evening.
I apologize as I couldn't figure out how to ask a question without starting a new thread so here's hoping I'm doing it right. I think I know the answer, that I need to take Maci to vet, but want to confirm and ask another question.
Maci was born 9/11/2001 and I've had her since I found her at a vet in Atlanta. It's been her and I throughout marriages and losses and moves and everything. She is a burmese breed (didn't know this until years ago I questioned her extreme independent and behavior to the vet). I've had siamese, but she has BIG attitude. LOL
There is nothing different in her in eating, drinking, asking for kitty snacks and talking like she has for her entire life. We brought a Frenchie home 8/2016 and of course she doesn't like him because she has never been sociable which is why I NEVER had another animal except her. She only hissed at Gibbs for months when she'd walk by and she refuses to be in the same room as him very long, but other than that, same Maci including playing with kitty toys in the middle of the night as I find them scattered.
Her new thing is to jump on my kitchen counters and eat/drink anything she finds including whatever I may have 'soaking' in the sink to clean. She has NEVER been allowed OR even attempted to be on kitchen counters. Any ideas of why this behavior? It's not the dog as she does it when he's nowhere around AND I only know she does it as I catch her in the act OR here her jump down.
She has started this week spraying the wall between our bedroom dresser and hamper. I cleaned very thoroughly and caught her just now again! She acts like nothing is wrong (well in her cat way). She has a litter box and yes, knows where it is. She has peed over the edge of litter box for months now (same litter nothing new there). I assume she is spraying since squatting to pee would not result in pee over the edge and the floor and the floor boards. She started this BEFORE we got Gibbs.
So three issues. 1. Spraying my bedroom wall as of this week.
2. Spraying "in" her litter box (for a few months).
3. As of recently claiming the kitchen counters and anything on it as hers
If any ideas I will take care of. Her annual visit to vet last year was fine. She is indoor cat ONLY.
Thank you.
Maci's mom.
