Do you buy them? Do you have your favorites? Mine were delivered this morning at work; I bought three boxes from a co-worker's daughter (I try to help out when I can and besides.....cookies!
) I bought two boxes of Thin Mints, one for me and one for Rick, and a box of Samoas, strictly for me because....COCONUT!!!, although I'll open them here at work and share them....maybe. Rick said he ordered two boxes of Thin Mints from a bowling cohort, so we'll have Thin Mints for, well, a couple of days anyway.

I was never a GS (my sister was), but I try to help out my coworker when his kids are selling stuff.

Both my daughters were girl scouts and I swear the cookies tasted better back then.  You also got more for your money.

I buy them from one of my co-workers to show my support but give them away once I get home.

I used to love the peanut butter ones that were covered in chocolate. Aaron likes the thin mints. I haven't bought any in years. If I run into a girl scout selling them, I do the option of buying them for the troops.

Keebler sells all of them, all year long, under different names, for a dollar less per package ;). So I generally only buy GS cookies if a friend's kid is selling them. I like Samoas or whatever Keebler calls them best.

I have a recipe for a Samoa cake that is supposed to take just like the cookies. Rick won't eat coconut, though, so there I'd be, stuck with this cake and only me to eat it. Although I could probably bring it into work; the guys might possibly scarf it up for me.

I quit buying them a few years ago, I too don't think they are the same.  My favorite was Do si dos, they are the ones that are sandwich cookies with an oatmeal type cookies and a peanut butter cream filling.  When I sold cookies many many years ago they were called Butternut Roundups.  Those and the Thin Mints and Shortbread cookies were around 50 years ago when I was selling Girl Scout cookies.

I don't buy them.  The price and quantity per package are big turn offs.  Plus; when I was a kid, I HATED peddling stuff for fundraisers.  And we never had to stand outside the grocery store in 30 degree weather to do it.  My mother had to do most of it by taking the catalogs to work.  The thought of having to do that with  my own kids absolutely fills me with dread.  Like run for the hills.

I bought some for my son for his spring break road trip.  I have spent many hours standing outside stores with my daughter and her troop trying to sell the cookies.  I always buy at least one box from each troop especially the older ones.  They have a hard time selling.  I don't usually carry cash but I do if I know it's cookie time.  Last week we saw a lone GS and her mom standing outside the store on a rainy day.

I saw a booth sale this morning and I  gave in and bought some, I hadn't had them in years.  I got a box of the Do-si-dos, a box of the Thin Mints and a box of the Smores.  They charged an extra dollar for the Smores which they  told me about when I picked up a box.  I wanted to try them, I guess they are new this year, so I paid the extra dollar.

The Scouts were at our Lowes when we were in there. Rick bought two more boxes of Tagalongs and a box of Samoas.
