Hello. I am wondering what to do about my 17 year old Siamese cat. About four months ago, we had to put his brother to sleep because he had an intestinal tumor. Ever since then, my Siamese cat cries as loud as he possibly can in the hallway. To make matters worse, earlier this month my 14 year old developed squamous cell carcinoma in his mouth and despite meds, it spread quickly and we had to say goodbye to him! Now he cries at 1AM, 3AM and 5AM. I get up to comfort him, but it only helps for a little while. If he gets on the bed, I pet him, but he is meowing then too. He is Siamese, so these are more like SCREAMING than just meowing. Do you think he is lonely? I don't feel 100% ready to get more cats, but if he needs some companionship,I will adopt ASAP.

I'm so sorry for all your losses. :hugs:

Have you had blood work done lately? When my older cat started doing that it was because her thyroid levels were off. It's really best to rule out anything medical first. Once you rule that out, yo can start thinking behavioral and what can be done. :)

I will take him to the vet in a couple days. He is on a metmazole for hyperthyroidism now. I want him to have a complete checkup because I don't want any surprises like I did with my last two. It was devastating to lose my boys.

Oh I'm sure it was. It could be as simple as needing his dose adjusted or maybe he is lonely. Good luck at the vet. :hugs:

Sorry about the loss of your 2 kitties. I'm sure your 17 year old Siamese is lonely and  missing them as well. Hopefully the vet can give you some answers.
