I've had my two female cats since they were both kittens. Moxie is a little over 5 and Khaleesi is about 4 and a half. I got Moxie first but she's a little on the needy side so I got her friend. And they have been friends the past 4 years. Nothing more than a sisterly bicker occasionally.

So problem within a problem. My roommates brother, cody, moves in like 6 months ago and my little attention loving moxie developes a habit of rushing up to me and giving a loud meow anytime I walk into the room she's been chilling in. Shes not deprived of attention by any means. We play, she gets loves, treats. I noticed that she would do that to cody and he would just pick her up and carry her with him to where ever he's going in the house. So she was yelling to be carried around or just picked up. I talked to cody and we've been working on giving her attention and picking her up when she's quiet and cute, not loud and demanding. We ignore her when she demands. This isn't the big problem but I think it's contributing to moxies frustration.

Anyways. I finally got them fixed about 2 weeks ago. Moxie healed right up but khaleesis incision site got an infection. The day the infection flared up (Wednesday) I noticed moxie was being a little aggressive. I took khal to the vet, got antibiotics and a cone, came home and moxie attacked. Worst attack I've ever seen happen between the 2 of them. Felt like Moxie was in for the kill. I got Moxie by the scruff and threw her in the bathroom. Yelled for a good hour. Poor khal was just confused and sick. I also came down with some small congestion sickness that day so khaleesi and I stayed in my room to recuperate until the next day. I had let mox out of the bathroom and gave her the rest of the house but she just wanted me so she yelled. A lot. Thursday I cracked the door and let them sniff but moxie hissed so I shut it and that was that. Friday she squeezed in as I was coming out and went straight for attack 2. Separated again. Same thing happened Saturday but not as bad as the first 2 attacks.

Took khaleesi to the vet on monday, its a lot better but they gave her another round of antibiotics and I told them what was going on and they just said to keep them separated until she's done with the medicine. But the best way to do that is have khal in my room the majority of the time so she doesn't jump around too much and moxie just yells anytime I'm not on her side of the door it was driving me crazy.

I started 'reintroductions' sunday with the door and feedings and room swapping. Last night I let them both in the same room but it only lasted like 45 seconds. They had a tense stare off. I had treats ready that they ignored, khaleesi got scared so I calmly picked up mox and put her outside my room. Feed them dinner by the closed door a little later. I got moxie a calming collar today and we have merged without moxie attacking. Lots of treats, positive enforcement. Moxie seems to have 2 sides, the sweet one that wants to groom khal and the high alert that needs to keep an eye on everything khal does. When moxie tries to groom its good for minute but then khal gets nervous and flinches away which seems to slightly offend moxie. They've been back together for about 7 hours now. No real incident. I'm just nervous. I dont know what the next step is. Its way past bedtime haha. They're both actually in bed with me as I write this, me in the middle and one on each side down by my feet. I'm worried a fight will break out once I go to bed but I'm sure it'll be fine. Or it'll wake me up and I'll go from there.

But long story finally over, any advice or tips would be much appreciated. I just miss the peace. I keep waiting for the fight to break out.
