How often should they go #2? :)

Hi everyone,

I have a 4-5 months old kitten who recently changed her #2 habits. She used to go potty at least 2-3 times day and since couple of days ago she's been only going once!

Her stool is sizeable to say and nothing else seems off - she's playful, affectionate, and eating well (same as before) and drinks her water as usual.

Is this change normal? Should I be concerned? How can I know if she might be constipated?

Have you changed her food? Different foods can make a huge difference in how often they go.

No. Everything I can think of is unchanged.

She could be eating less. They really shouldn't poo more than once a day. Raw fed cats only poo every couple of days, which is perfectly fine.

Thank you! Yes actually I've been feeding her tiny bit less because the vet told me she gained a bit of a belly . Hopefully everything is fine.

Sounds normal to me. Mine are two years old and healthy, and they average about once (sometimes twice) a day.

Maybe its just my kitten changing her habits - when she was "younger" she used to poop at least 2-3 times
