While getting dressed today I had an unsettling experience.

After I put on my shoes, I got up to get something else and while walking my heart stopped. I felt... a small, slimy creature crawling inside my shoe!

Immediately I took off that shoe quicker than lightly, scared trying to see what kind of creature is the one in the shoe. And I found what almost scared me to death.

A quarter. Yes, an American 25 cent coin. It was sitting in the shoe, and when I put it on it started sliding as I walked.

I was scared off my wits to death... because of a quarter!

Oh Victor!
I can just see the look on your face when you felt that in your shoe! It's crazy how our imagination goes into overdrive at times!

That's too funny! Not too many people can say they were scared by a quarter!

The night that Shep made her appearance - hubby was out walking outside late at night in total darkness. He felt something rubbing on his leg and immediately thought "water moccasin" (a poisonous snake all over where we used to live). He jumped back and Shep meowed at him. She's been with us ever since (12 years).

Keep the quarter - it may bring you luck over time!

That's funny!

It reminds me of once when I was in college. I was in bed, half asleep, when all of a sudden I felt an animal jump on me! Now, mind you, we were not allowed animals in the dorms, so there was no pets in the building. I screamed, and opened my eyes, to find....

It was a picture that had fallen off my wall onto my bed and me!

It wouldn't have been so embarrassing if my roommate's boyfriend hadn't been there at the time...

When I was a kid, I found a roach in my shoe - after putting the shoe on! Now, just so you understand, I have a MAJOR phobia when it comes to cockroaches. I am scared to death of them. You wouldn't believe how serious this gets for me sometimes. I will actually get on the verge of tears just from the thoughts of them. I was scared of them before that happened with shoe, but I think it made my phobia worse. I am 24 years old now and I still remember that very well. And, this is no lie, ever since that day, I ALWAYS double or triple check my shoes before putting them on and sometimes even my socks even though I've never seen one in my shoes since that day. If I ever see a roach anywhere at all, I start crying, running, and yelling for someone to come and kill it, then I'm a nervous wreck for the rest of night or day. So, yeah, the quarter would have definitely freaked me out. I will probably have nightmares tonight now from thinking back on that experience - pathetic - lol!

LOL! That reminds me of the time I put my shoes on and found something wet and slimy - one of the dogs had deposited a worked-over "chewy" (rawhide stick) in my shoe. One of my favorite times was when I was correcting tests out in the backyard and had JC on his fixed lead - he put something heavy in my lap, and when I looked, it was a rat - alive, but scared stiff! Another time I was lying on the bed reading, when our (then) dog tossed a writhering garter snake onto the bed, right on top of my book. I agree - keep the quarter as a good luck charm!

The more I think about it the funnier it is!
