My 5 1/2 month kitten got spayed last Thursday around noon and is wearing a E collar that we were asked to wear for 7-10 days. I'm wondering if it's healing right. They said it was not stitched outside but inside and they put this glue stuff on top. Does it look like it's healing right for 4 days mark now (photo below)? The green mark is her spay tattoo. I'm just a bit worried and new at this. I'm not sure if I should take the e collar off unsupervised or not yet. She does pick at it soon after removing, I give her supervised breaks for eating. It goes back on as soon as I catch her licking at it.

She started eating normally as soon as we got home from the spay and refused to stay calm, we tried restricting her running, jumping and climbing but it's near impossible. She's a Calico if it helps at all to understand her personality. She is stationed in our bedroom since the bathroom is way too small for her and she jumps in and out of the bathtub. She's a bit calmer in the bedroom and less jumpy and crying. We let her out supervised during the day as we have two other cats. Neither show interest in licking her thankfully.

It looks like they were a little sloppy with the glue :D. But it doesn't look red or irritated so that's good, although of course there are some things you can only tell in person. If it seems overly hot or swollen you should call the vet. But just from the pic I don't see anything to worry about.

It doesn't feel warm and doesn't look swelled up to me. It looks a little lumpy when the skin is not stretched out but once stretched out it look oks flat and feels flat. I'm afraid of taking the e collar off too early. Especially since she goes right for it when I do unless I'm playing with her on the ground or wetfood is presence to keep her mind busy.

I've never used a cone and I've only had one cat who picked at her stitches. Some grooming is allowed, it's only if she picks at it that it becomes a problem, and that's a lot less likely with the internal-stitches-and-glue method. if you want to give her a chance to leave the cone off while you're around to watch her I think she'd be OK.

She unfortunately picks at it right away. Looks like she's going at the glue. Put it back on incase. I'll see tomorrow how it is I guess.
