Hey all,
I had some people over at my place for a few hours, and my cat's really not that great with people. He was locked in my room for That time, but some kids decided to sneak into my room while JoJo my cat was still there. They closed the door and spent maybe 30 minutes with him. After the people left, I came into the room with jojo breathing pretty fast. I know for sure that he does not have any type of breathing disability as he visited the vet just over a week ago. I don't know if it due to stress that he's breathing this fast?? Should I visit the vet? He's calmed down a bit, and being the sweetly he is, been sitting on my lap

Hi and welcome!

I would definitely watch her closely, her breathing if due to stress should calm down fast, not take more than minutes really.

Comfort her and be calm, quiet voice, if her breathing isn't back to fully normal within a half hour/should be less, then you might ring the vet.

How old are the kids with her?

I'd think if she is not so comfy with people then they would not likely have been able to get ahold of her, hold her by her neck or pull her tail or other?

Not sure how they got into the room. I found him under the bed. He has calmed down now thank god. He's also eating and drinking

That's good to hear. Of course for her sake I would make sure there is no chance of them being alone with her ever again, which I'm sure you will :)
