I have occasionally mentioned before on here that my (now 8.5 month old) kitten seems to have always had a small appetite compared to what's expected for active kittens.  She is otherwise seemingly very healthy, very active, and at her last vet appt after her spaying at 6 months old, she was 6.4 lbs so a healthy weight too as of then.  My concern, is that she doesn't seem to want to eat more than 4 ounces of wet food a day, sometimes I can get 4.5 ounces out her (she also gets 1/4th of a cup of dry to boost her calorie intake).  The dry food she always finishes, but I am trying not to make that more than 1/2 of her diet for the obvious health reasons.  Any advice on how to make wet food more appealing to her?

*her peak calories per day end up around the 250 mark, but sometimes ends up closer to 200 on some days.  For an active kitten I know that's pretty low.

Part of the problem is she is super picky with brands of wet food- many she won't touch at all, and I think she is starting to get tired of the ones she does like because over the past week or so, she's eating even less of her favorites. Part of me is now starting to wonder if she is trying to hold out on eating more wet in the hopes that I will give her more dry, since she eats that more willingly, but I really don't want to do that unless I have no choice!  I even strategically give her the dry food only after she's just eaten a wet meal, otherwise she'd probably never eat her wet food.  Any advice?

If you can find one that she likes, you might add a kibble to her diet (introduce it slowly).  Kibbles tend to be higher in calories than the wet foods.  DO NOT REPLACE the wet food, just offer the kibbles as a snack.  Some cats like to "graze" during the day, and the kibbles stay fresh.  Check your ingredients, and buy the best you can afford...although MANY cats prefer the cheaper brands, and since this is an additional feeding, it isn't so critical.

@Mamanyt1953  I actually mentioned that in my original post- how I give her a high calorie dry food as part of her diet to give her extra calories.  I give her about a 1/4th of a cup a day which = 120 calories but I'd prefer not to have to increase the amount of dry to be any more than that.   It's a good quality one too- a grain-free L.I.D. with minimal filler but still not my preferred choice if I can find a way to get her to eat more wet food.

Sorry...I answered that after a long night when my eyes just would not close!  I totally missed that part of the post.  SIGH...finicky cats can be the very dickens to deal with.  I have one, Hekitty Renee.  I am so often reminded of T. S. Elliot's Rum Tum Tugger,

"Yes the Rum Tum Tugger is a Curious Cat--
And there isn't any use for you to doubt it:
For he will do
As he do do
And there's no doing anything about it!"

One of our more nutritionally experienced folks should spot this soon and chime in!
