I have a 1 year old Devon. We have a family of 4 (well, 4 humans + 3 cats), but he's always been very atttached to me. He's never had any problems with aggression, with any of the cats or with us. Lately he's been getting upset with me at bedtime. He sleeps in our bed, and usually when I'm ready to go to bed I call him and he follows me. The last few nights he jumps into bed but instead of curling up and going to sleep like he usually does- he stares at me and does his angry meow. If I try to pet him, he bites me. If I get up out of bed, he follows and bites my leg. He's not playing, and nothing seems to snap him out of it. I take him out of my room and close the door and then he cries, but if I let him in, the same thing happens again. I'm at a complete loss. He's done this a couple other times- once when I went to bed a lot later than normal, and I thought it was because he was cranky that I wasn't in bed already. Another time there was no rhyme or reason. Now it's been 3 nights in a row. No changes in the house- we haven't been gone more, he's still getting the same amount of attention (super spoiled kitty :)) and he is only doing this at bedtime. And only with me. Help....

He might just be going through his stroppy adolescence

Cats are naturally nocturnal, so he might be starting to stay up late at night and want you to stay up with him to play:  queue dirty looks.

Your best bet is to not interact with him at all.  Your constant acknowledgement of him is just reinforcing the idea that if he annoys you, you stay up longer and "play" with him.  The more you talk to him, pet him, and pick him up & boot him out - the more he will think, "hey, this is great fun!"

Try to make your room as dark as possible, as cats may be nocturnal but they can't actually see in the pitch black.

Playing with him early in the evening and giving him a meal before bed time will tire him out.
