I'm back!

Hi all. So I'm not sure the best way to introduce my two cats to a new house. The 2 year old cat frightens easily when it comes to noises and strangers and I don't know how this move will affect him. The 8 month old kitten is very social and has to be in everything - I'm not worried about her at all.

I'm moving to my mothers house which is good because it already has our scents all around. I'm going to bring their toys, blankets and trees over before I take them over so they'll have their scents there as well.

My question is, do I take them to the house, let them explore and then bring them back to my house or do I move them in permanently? I was thinking it may be a good idea to take them over a few times to visit before permanently moving them in so it won't be so traumatic. What do you think? What would be best for them?

Thank you

Whatever you end up doing, just make sure that you introduce them to the new house gradually (one room at a time). Show them the locations of the litter boxes, scratching posts, food/water dishes, etc. Having two cats instead of just one will also make it easier on them because they have a buddy to comfort them. I think that the idea of bringing them to the house, then back to yours is a good one, as long as your cats don't get stressed out by being in the carrier and riding in the car. Best of luck! Beautiful cats, BTW.

We just moved into a new house with our cats. Moved all their items and then kept them in one room to start with. After they seemed okay with this, we let them go out an explore the rest of the house. Our scardey cat hid for a day or so, but soon she was out and running around.
