Hi
We got our new kitty in December and shortly after she started coughing so went to vet and they gave her 7 days of antibiotic , she was better for a couple of weeks then back to coughing so another round of antibiotic!
While still on antibiotics she coughed up two roundworms ..... back to vet and they gave her drontal tablet and another one in two weeks. So the coughing was caused by the roundworms, she also have been eating so much and playful and active.
My question is 5 days after the first pill she started sneezing/ coughing just like she did when the two worms cam out, is that normal ? Is it the larvae that are now adult that provoke this again? We are now on day 7 so another week before second pill.
She is still playful eating less but well and stool are good with sometimes dead worms in them.
Thank you

None of the current treatments kill the immature forms of the worm or the migrating larvae so at least two or three treatments are needed. I'm not meaning to be rude but is there another vet you can see?

Hi
Thanks for your response, I am thinking of changing yes.
Also I know it may require 2 or 3 doses to get rid of the roundworms but my question was about the fact that the symptômes ( sneezing/ coughing) are back a few days after first dose and if this was normal.
Thank you again

If the symptoms are back the lavae have most likely migrated to the lungs again which means they weren't killed this time around.
