I'd been a reader of the newsletter, and didn't realize this vibrant community existed!  Hello from Bonnie, and cone head Billy, who now lives next door, because Bonnie wouldn't stop attacking him. (Thus, the cone!)  Ah, well.  My neighbor/friend loves Mr. B.

I call Bonnie the round cat, because of her Rubinesque physique.  She joined me at the age of 12 or 13 (former owners weren't sure), and I've been trying to slim her down a bit - but she seems to stay round.  She's quite lovely to me, though.  I love that she always crosses her front paws, no matter her position.

Hello Fantisticat, Bonnie and Billy, welcome to TCS :wavey:

Glad that you've joined us. There's lots of good articles and also very active forum pages. Feel free to post your questions if you have any and do post more photos of Bonnie and Billy and get to know more cats here.

Both of them are lovely and we have a thread just for black cats only :- http://www.thecatsite.com/t/268663/black-cats-only

A warm welcome to you and Bonnie, and of course Billy.
How wonderful that you were able to find Billy a home right next door.   He seems to be tolerating the cone fairly well.  I second the recommendation to post pictures in the Black cat forum - Bonnie and Billie are beautiful and would fit right in.   It was certainly good of you to take on a senior cat and an overweight one at that - Bonnie looks wonderfully content with you.
I also have an overweight black cat (named Paul) who is resisting all attempts at slimming down.  Recently I have taken him into the hall of my apartment building where he races up and down and hopefully burns off some calories.

The crossed paws are adorable.  My Chula sometimes does that as well. I always think they look like ladies at High Tea when they do that.

Be sure to check out the articles and threads. There is an impressive amount of information available here covering practically any cat-related topic you can imagine.

Thanks so much for this welcoming welcome!

Ah!  I love the image of  Paul enjoying his, uh, stairmaster!  Bonnie has lost a bit of poundage since joining me, but, I think she is destined to be a big girl.

I'm just starting to realize the enormous worth of this joint.  My Bonnie is BCC (Butt Cleaning Challenged), and who knew my search of "poopie" (more correctly spelled "poopy," I learned), would bring instant ideas for me.

Chula is a great name.  Here's to our dainty ladies.

Ellen

Welcome to TCS. Ellen !  Bonnie certainly is a little Fernando Botero-ish   HildaThe Lost Pinup Girl-y   Rubenesque; my   fat  chubby   voluptuous cats all say that's just more of them to feed Love.  Do post more images on the photos threads - they're just delightful kitties !

Ah!  I'm glad I can put a face and name to Fernando Botero art!  I've seen his work (now that I've looked it up, thanks to you), but never bothered to find a name.  A VERY apt description of the round girl!

Thanks for the new knowledge and welcome!

We're glad to have yo here.  My fat unsvelte Snowshoe just told me that Bonnie's probably a little roundish because of Denver's high elevation - like people weighing more on Jupiter than on Earth.

Snowshoe is freaking hilarious!  That explains my slight roundness as well, eh?
Oh please don't tell her that.  She's a little narcissistic already - that's her - Moo Shu Snowshoe - in my avatar.  As far as roundness goes, cat people are built for comfort.  No cat wants to sit on a bony lap, and who wouldn't wish to be well-rounded after all?
