My 4 month-old cats both when they're done eating scratch on the floor like they're covering up their food just like in the litter box... what's up with that?

Hello Redstaredd, it's normal for cats to do the motion of covering up their food after eating. It's just like in the wild, that is to not let predators know that they have been around. It's just like covering up their tracks, same as in the litter box, to cover up their scent.

My boy does that when he can't finish his food or when his food is dished out too early when he's not hungry yet. For both he'll use his paw and dig the floor to cover up his food although the food is not being covered at all :lol3:

Don't worry, it's normal. Just enjoy looking at his action ;)

Normal. be careful with cloth placemats really determined food buriers can make one heck of a mess using it to cover their food.
