So my cat Buddy was throwing up a week ago every so often. I took him to the vet on Tuesday they couldn't find anything wrong.  Now today he has thrown up over 12 times. he is still eating fine the only thing I don't know of if he is drinking I saw him drink once today and not a whole lot. what he is throwing up looks like a light brown paste with some food mixed in. he is acting fine, his breathing is a bit shallow sometimes. I just don't know if he is bad enough to go to the emergency vet or not. I am going to difently take him to the vet in the morning. I just want your guys option on if he can wait til tomorrow.

Hello Rouge22912,why not stop feeding him for awhile and bring him to the vet first thing in the morning? At least there won't be any intake of food and he don't have to vomit.

Could he be allergic to the food he's eating now? Or did he ingest any poison or human food as some ingredients are toxic to cats. Any plants, flowers?

As far as the food goes, can they become allergic to a food after months of feeding the same thing?

The only thing I can think of as far as toxin wise, is that I took him on a walk outside yesterday and we was climbing all over a dirty snow pile.

Does he throw up every time he eat or throw up even without eating? Allergy from food could be one of the symptoms. Could be something else that's irritating his GI tract.

If you have a photo of his vomit, show it to the vet. Best is bring him in to the vet.

Are you using a cat littler containing sodium bentonite (i.e. a "clumping" cat litter)?

I took him to the vet this morning, they were worried about a blockage and took some x-rays. The didn't find anything on the x-ray so they gave him some fluids and an anti nauseous shot and then sent me home with some special food to give him the next few days and told me to watch when he goes to the bathroom to make sure he is going poop.

The only litter I  use is World's best cat litter.

So glad to hear that the vet doesn't suspect anything too serious.

Give him a head rub for me.

They make many varieties, including a clumping litter.  If that's what you're using, I'd discontinue its use immediately and switch to a non-clumping litter.  Cat litter will clump as easily in a cat's digestive tract as it will anywhere else, and in normal grooming, cats will transfer the dust and particulates to their mouths in cleaning.  A small cat - or a cat who ingests too much - can have serious issues.
