Hi again! Tomorrow marks one month with my adopted kitty cat. So far she's had a tapeworm (but no fleas), and she's currently getting toward the end of treatment for an ear infection. Today I noticed that her right eye is slightly watery. I can notice it if the light catches her eye in the right way, and the black lining of her eye appears wet. She doesn't seem to have any other symptoms...she isn't excessively blinking (although I do get nervous when she does the normal blinking slowly now haha), she doesn't have a runny nose or sneezing or anything like that...

What do you think is going on? I'm wondering if since it's just the one eye, maybe she irritated her eye with a toy or a piece of litter (I don't see anything in there, though).

I'm just super nervous and don't want to anything to go wrong with her, but I also don't want to drag her out to the vet for the third week in the row if I don't NEED to.

Cats can get occasional watery eyes just like humans do. Something gets in there or you rub it. As long as it isn't cloudy, her third eyelid isn't showing, she isn't rubbing it excessively, you don't notice swelling or redness, AND (sorry long list) nothing else is going on outside of the ear infection (changes in eating or litter box for example) then you are fine to give her 24 hours. Obviously, that is a personal opinion and use your own judgement.

My girl had a watery eye the other day too. I noticed a little tearing in it. Me being the overprotective kitty mom freaked out and was babying her all evening. Extra food (I claim that I was making sure she was eating) and lots of play and loving to make sure she wasn't lethargic. Next day no sign, whew.

I would give it a day. Reevaluate it and look for anything else. If anything else comes up or it seems to get worse be prepared for another vet visit. I do feel you on that too. I am on my longest stretch of no vet visits since September... 6 weeks. I was in at least every other week for a while there.

She doesn't want to cooperate for a pic, but I tried to get a little something before she hid. The watery stuff leaked out and is under her eye I guess
