Pauses, hours or even days, are common.  If she is OK, no visible troubles, you can wait and see.   As it seems it is as you describe it, no?

So its really NOT a long labor, its a stopped labor...

How did the first delivered dead kittens look?  round and furry, or visibly scrawny without fur on limbs?   Ie visibley premature?  If visibly premature, its just to wait till the others cooking is succesfully finished...

If the first ones were fully developed, it gets a little more complicated to analyse, still the advice is also here - if she is all right, no visible problmes, you can wait and see.

Of course, wanting to playing it safe, its wise to consult a vet whom is a good obstetrician, even if it costs.

But not all vets are experienced and good obstetricians, and you arent made of money...  So the calculated risk balance recommeds waiting for the natural outcome.

Please continue to report, whatever happens.

Good luck!

It's fine - she'll have the others when she's ready. Sorry about the stillborns.
