Yes Mom is inside and they are always in the nest unless they want to explore which means momma comes out so they never really get hurt or get dirty at that moment or any other time

I don't let her outside because she can get pregnant again and this will be her last pregnancy by the way because I will be getting her spayed

Just wipe the kittens down with a warm, damp wash cloth for now. Baths should not be necessary.

Also if anyone who is highly knowledgeable about gender identification that would help me a lot since I can't tell what genders the kittens I have are

Oh ok I didn't know that. Thank you that is very helpful since I don't want any conflict I have ready so many things about baby kittens having so many conflicts but people on this site saving them and caring for there needs even when vets say over dramatic things like it is going to die and plus that stresses the owner who is caring and spending the money to help it out to survive and have a fantastic life![emoji]10084[/emoji][emoji]10084[/emoji][emoji]10084[/emoji][emoji]128568[/emoji][emoji]128568[/emoji][emoji]128568[/emoji][emoji]128571[/emoji][emoji]128571[/emoji][emoji]128571[/emoji]

Hi sorry I haven't been on but I have a question. My cats kittens just became 4 weeks old on Saturday the 11th of March and I believe are now able to be weaned correct? If not I would like to know.

I believe 4 week old kittens are just old enough to try wet kitten food in addition to nursing. I don't think you should try to wean them at this time

I think they start to wean around 5 weeks in my experience, although you can mix some canned kitten food with KMR and offer it to them. Sometimes they will try it. They wont really stop nursing until 8 weeks though :)

Have you tried mushy wet food with your kittens yet, as suggested? They should be interested in eating soon between 4-6 weeks. Most kittens will nurse as long as mom will let them!

You should use pate style wet food for weaning. You can mix in KMR to make it mushy so they can lap it up initially. Sometimes it helps to smear some on their mouths so they will taste it. Wet food is best for kittens as well.

Also, softening the dry food with KMR will make it easier to eat while they are learning.
