I'm about ready to nail my food bowls to the floor. One of my kits thinks it's fun to get her paw under any one of them and flip it. Including the weighted ones.   She also auto dialed , thankfully my best friend and left a voicemail of several minutes of the news.

I appreciate coming here and everyone's posts. This is a great thread!

Brian, I love the photo you included, what a precise little serving system the owner had going on there! Cat heaven!!!

Right now I have been using ceramic as that was a successful way of feeding with previous cats. I find the bowls stay on the floor without being pushed away and never get "tipped" . I have 5 on hand right now for Kaleb of which I am using three. One is more like a small treat dish for an adult cat which is what I will use it for when he is grown.. but right now I've been mashing his wet food in it. I don't give him much he's only five months.

The water bowl is about 3-4 inches high, and weighty which is what I seem to like about it. I may consider a wider dish with sides in the future as after seeing the photos I'm now more aware of my options. I like the idea of paying close care to your kitten's whiskers.

Here is a photo of what Kaleb has as of now:

I haven't had an issue with ants yet. I did find one a few days ago, but it was my fault. I left the small dish there all night after he had already finished his canned, and there was still residue in the dish.  Won't do that again!!

We have this elevated feeder:

We call it Coco and Callie's "dining table."  Coco objected at first, but now they eat side-by-side four times a day...

(You can really see how small Callie is in comparison to Coco here!)

Coco used to fling food all over the place as she ate, but this "dining table" set has eliminated that issue.  Also, we really like the bowls.  They don't have any corners/edges, and are very shallow and wide.  And  the cat ears are super adorable!

This is what I have too and I love it. It's raised and titled which makes it easier for them to get to.

I use ModaPet bowls. They're almost flat like a plate but they are cone shaped so the food slides down to the middle. They are great and colorful too! They have a heavy non slip base to keep them steady.

It would be very interesting to have dimensions posted as well.

BTW - has anybody measure the length of the whiskers?  To compare with the diameter of the bowl.

Well, kitty's whiskers don't need to be inside of the bowl.
What is important is that the bowl is shallow enough that kitty can eat without his/her whiskers touching any of the edges.

Never measure but the plates my boy uses is wide enough that it does not get in the way of his whiskers (post 15 of this thread)
