Cannot think of any random acts I have done today.. I really have not done much...

Just being polite at Chuch, at the Drug Store and held the elevator for one of my neighbors... and of course, bugging Artie and kissing him...but no random acts..

In this day and age of some people who are self-obsessed and selfish, just being polite or holding the elevator for your neighbor is a random act of kindness.

Today is not only TGIF but Feb. 17 is National Random Act of Kindness Day.  http://www.nationaldaycalendar.com/...national-cabbage-day-national-caregivers-day/

It's not only positive for the receiver but for the giver too.  Think about this as you go about your day today
A few weeks ago I was at the beauty shop and a elderly lady I've never seen before told me I was beautiful. She sure made my day. In all of my 66 years no one has ever told me that.

I didn't go out today but will on Sunday. I'll try and do a random act of kindness then.

A couple years ago I came out of the grocery store to find a $10 gift card in my windshield with a little note saying it was a random-act-of-kindness in honor of a local girl who died in a car accident along with her grandma and best friend.  I passed that accident scene just ahead of the ambulance and I will never forget the faces of the people who had stopped to help.  So it really touched me to see how people are keeping her memory alive.

I've also had teenagers from a local Christian school approach me in the grocery store parking lot asking if there was anything they could do to help me.  They were on a school trip to do acts of kindness.  I had a baby and a toddler in tow but unfortunately they were gone by the time I made it out of the store. I could have used them then!

My favorite is to ask if I can take someones cart to the cart return for them when I'm putting mine away.  It really bothers me when people don't return their carts and just leave them between cars.  I've always put mine away but since becoming a Mom I just always think how my kids are watching everything I do.  If I see someone has dropped something in the store; I'll tell my kids to help pick it up.  Like if they had a few too many boxes of tissue in their hands or something like that.  I will send them to grab some trash that has blown into our elderly neighbor's yard or pick up pine cones on her side of our fence when we are cleaning up our yard.

I try to help people, but I'm really bad about allowing people to cross in front of me in a parking lot when I'm driving. It's not really intentional, I swear. It's more like I have so much crap running through my mind that I don't think. I just don't think. I'm trying to be better. I think it is a law in PA now, too.

Often, when it's my turn to buy donuts for work, I will pay for the car behind me. It does come back, too, because I've had the car in front of me pay for mine. I've helped people in the grocery store, especially elderly people, if they don't have enough money. I just feel so badly for them sometimes. An elderly gentleman had milk, bread, and eggs. And he was short on money. I paid it. It what's you do to help.

One time there were two little elderly women in a restaurant that Rick and I went to for lunch. They were darling, they were just darling. They were all dressed up and, I don't know, it seemed like a special occasion for them. They were having such a great time, laughing and talking. I know you're not supposed to watch people, it's rude and I get that. But they made us smile. When we paid for our lunch, Rick asked for the tab for the ladies, too, and we paid it. I'm sure they appreciated it. And it made us feel good.
