This here is my cat, BB. I found him when I was 8 years old while hiking through a Blue Mountain, PA campground; he was just a little kitten, only a couple weeks old and all alone to the best of my family's knowledge. We weren't sure what happened to him, but we noticed that he walked a little funny and he seemed to be rather slow and clumsy for a cat, so we brought him home. He's been my buddy since; he's now 12 years old, and he's really warmed up to my family as he's gotten older (he used to spend most of his time outside, but the last few years he's spent a little less time out and about).

I've always been curious what kind of cat he is; he has a thick, dense coat, medium-to-long hair, white socks that are particularly long in the back, and a gray and black striped tail. I'm supposing he is a Maine Coon of some form, but I admit I don't have any kind of expertise in cat identification lol please, I'd appreciate anyone's input. Thanks!

Some more details: he has green eyes, weighs just shy of 30 lbs, and he has a really high pitched meow lol as big as he is, he sounds like he's still a kitten

First, welcome to TCS !  Without a DNA swab or registry papers, it's all a guess, though at 30 pounds - unless he's grossly overweight - Maine Coon makes the best guess.  A few more images wouldn't hurt - especially the face and muzzle conformation and a close-up of his coat, showing the guard hair length.  The breed standard recognises two Tabbies (blue and silver) and one Tortie (blue), although Maine Coons are seen in Blue-shaded-Silver Tortie as well

I think he's gorgeous, but I'll admit a bias for big cats - Maine Coons and Norwegian Forests especially.

He's big, but as big as he is, he doesn't look too fat for his frame. His fur is particularly longer at his shoulders too. And thank you :') I love him. We've basically grown up together
