Is she a Siamese?

I adopted this cutie in November from a local animal rescue. The vet said she's likely Siamese but the people at the shelter said she was the only one from her litter who wasn't a tabby. I find it odd. Her fur coat is rougher than most cats I've owned (we have about 20 in my family between my side of the family and my aunt and my uncles side.) Kind of feels greasy. She's always meowing about something and had an endless supply of energy. She also cries all night if the bedroom door is shut (but if she's visiting my Dad's house she is quiet - maybe because she has 4 other cats to play with.)

Anyways, just wanted some thoughts I'm pretty sure she is at least part Siamese

Kittens are hard to guess. They still have those cute baby features. Especially if you suspect some Siamese they tend to start getting angular (as mixes in my experience) around 5 months.

That she was the only pointed out of the litter would mean whatever gave her the pointed is at least 2 generations back. Given that she is shorthair and those ears.... I'd put a good bet on some Siamese playing a part in being Siamese.

Technically, she is doemstic short hair seal point. With seal point being the color and domestic short hair the breed.

Yes, domestic shorthair.   Lynx seal point - ie   tabby with the point part being black.    she looks decently alike a siamese old type.   None of her parents were pointed, but both carried the point gene.   and thus, one or two in such a  litter are born points.

We cant know how far back the siamese ancestor is.  May be a granddad, but may be 100 generations back too...

Exactly such phenomen occurs now and then among the purebred Russian blue. Because they used some blue pointed siameses 70 years back, but hadnt used known point carriers in any active breeding programmes in 50 years.  Still, such happens now and then....   To the despair of some breeders.  While other, spay the kitten and sell it as a home pet ("company pet"), but they do joy at this marvel of the nature.   They are politely called for pointed russians, but the label on their pedigree says RX (not the usual RUS) , which essentially means a moggie with a pedigree...

And yes, these kittens  too are look alikes of siameses old type  (nowadays known as Thai).
