One kitten eating everything, other not sure if eating enough

Hi (:

I'm not exactly concerned, but I'd like to hear some opinions about our situation (feeding style, food we buy etc) from experienced cat owners (since I'm not one). This will be a little longer post but I'd like to put on the table all relevant information..

Our situation: We have 2 kittens, Felicity (mix of norwegian forest cat, over 16 weeks old) and Tauriel (mix of maincoon, 2 weeks younger, in my avatar pic ^.^). We got Feli one week before Tauri, they had little problems at the beginning but we asked a lot uncle google and went on it slowly, now we're not able to separate them ^.^. They're really great with each other, using both toilets as they like, eating from both food bowls of each other... We have them over 3 weeks now.

When we got Feli, she was a little too thin in our opinion, with the few first days of stress we were little worried but got this dry food we found in the local pet shop and looked really quality to us (https://www.real-nature.com/en-ir/products/undefined/) and also canned food (https://www.real-nature.com/en-ir/products/real-nature-wilderness-cat-true-country-kitten-wet/) with 97% of meat and she fell in love with it and now I call her a little fatty since she eats until she's as wide as long.

Here I'm alread having some questions: Since I can't really find reviews of this brand, but looking at the content it seems to me like a very quality cat food (also visible on the price), is this brand as good as i think? And is it good to feed the kitten so much canned food - she really eats as much as she can, can food we feed twice a day, but she is still eating also the dry food..?

And now the story of problematic Tauriel: After getting her from the previous owner we had an impression that she eats everything. Sadly she refused any wet food, ate only dry and only a little. So we tried raw meat, that she ate, but also not that much. But she had a "blockage" so after few days we went to the vet, she got stuff in her ass and pooped.. So I continued with raw hen/chicken breasts, little chicken hearts, lungs, little beef to that, but still not eating enough, the vet situation repeated twice more within the first week, got some laxative, some royal canin powder to mix with water with nutritients, after the week problems were luckily over, i slowly stopped with the laxative.. Now after consult with the vet I feed her same meat as before but cooked (slowly fried, without anything else of course), twice a day. She also eats the dry food, has it the whole day available. Any time I offer her some wet cat food she is absolutely not interested. She eats little yogurt, doesn't eat tuna, ate a little parmesan, egg yolk also once...

Now, I'm not exactly sure if it isn't because the other kitten, Feli, is eating like crazy, but I feel like Tauri is still not eating enough (but gaining about 40 grams per day), she looks pretty thin. Also the other kitten is gaining faster (but here I'm not sure if Feli is not maybe getting fat :D).

So what should my next steps be: Continue feeding her cooked meat (which I'm not really happy about since the preparations take some time especially after forgetting to get the meat from freezer, and I rather buy quality can even if it's more expensive that the meat) so that she at least eats something? Or should I try to make her eat wet food (since it also has a lot of nutritions, there is more variety to choose from..)?

Because I'm not sure which path to choose, I've read that quality dry food is enough for a happy healthy cat as long as she drinks enough (I think Tauri does). I've also read that it is better if the cat eats also wet food and not only dry... Now we leave them both twice a day bowl with "wet" food and whole day they have bowl with dry food. Tauri eats very slowly, Feli is not interested in her cooked meat but as soon as I tried to mix there some cat wet food, Feli ate it from Tauri's bowl.. If I try to change the system to feed wet food strictly twice a day, remove after for example 10 minutes, in order to teach Tauri to eat her meat faster and slowly try to change to the cat wet food, I risk her not eating enough (and I can't leave the bowl, because Feli would eat her food).

I just want her to grow healthy and have all she needs. And please no posts about how "she knows what is good for her because raw diet is the best for cats" I am sure it is good and could be the best but this is not the way I want to go (:

Thanks for any replies and opinions (:

In my opinion, wet food is far superior than dry. Cats do not have an active thirst drive and their bodies were designed to get the bulk of their water intake from their prey (rodents, birds, insects, etc). You may see them drinking but they'll never drink enough water to make up for what they should be getting in their diet.

Kittens should be fed as much as they want to eat, so their bowls should never be empty.

The main reason for blockages in cats is not enough moisture in their diet. It's not the only reason, but it is in most cases. What I would do in your situation is find a wet food that your kitten likes. You may have to buy a can of several different brands to give her to try.

I also have 2 cats and one of them is a food hog and would eat all the food if I didn't monitor them. So when I feed them breakfast & dinner, I feed them separately so my girl gets to eat her whole meal  and her brother doesn't steal it.

As far as the home-cooked, I  would only suggest you continue that if you do more research on how to make it complete and balanced. Fried meat is not balanced. Cats need meat, bone, organs and sometimes extra supplements to make a meal complete.

In my opinion, I would suggest you stick to canned food meals. Buy a few different brands and flavors to find one (or a couple) that your kittens eat heartily. Feed them as much as they want to eat but make sure to feed them separately so you can ensure that they both eat enough. You don't have to separate them, just feed one on one side of the kitchen and your thin girl on the other side of the kitchen, for example. If you want to leave the dry food out during the day, that's fine but always feed them wet food for breakfast & dinner so they are hydrated and they will be much less likely to get blockages in the future.

Thanks for your post, I already started by buying some different brands/consistences, better and also little worse quality but for now she only ate some softer snacks but as soon as i give her any of cat wet food she smells it little and directly goes away and is not interested anymore. But I will keep trying, mixing little snacks with the wet food. For now she is eating quite enough of the quality dry food and i still give her once in a while the fried meat and organs. She drinks visibly much more than the other kitten which eats wet food and we soon buy also one of those drinking fountains since she likes to drink water from the sink (:

Also soon we will visit the vet again because of vaccination, so i will also discuss with him.

Blockage is no problem anymore, that was only the days after we brought her home. Luckily now she poops properly ^.^ :D

I hope we will find something she likes.

Thanks, was good to hear someone opinion directly (:
