So this is my first Foster Kitty and I guess that I expected the group I foster with to know more about her than they did. They think she is hardly a year old, and she is pregnant. Nothing else.
After getting her home, I realized she is a sweetheart and I don't think she could possibly be a stray. She has a few quirks though that I don't understand entirely and if they are related to her pregnancy.
She will cry all the time. She cries when someone comes in the room. she cries if you look at her. She cries if you turn the light off. It's been hell sleeping with her in my room as that's the only place she can be. She also makes me a little worried when she uses the litter box. She cries when she gets in the litter box and I'm not sure why. She isn't in pain. Then she digs for forever after doing her business. Is that just a pregnancy thing?
My main question is how far along she looks. I'm not sure if the babies will come tonight or in 2 weeks so here are her symptoms and I'll leave pictures.
She is super big and I can feel the babies moving around. They seem pretty strong too. I'm not sure how big they are though. She had seemed like she is nesting but for all I know, she is just riding in a warm place to sleep. She will go into the box I made her in the bathroom, closet, and her travel crate. One of the things throwing me off is her nipples. They are slightly pink, and they do look a bit larger than a normal cat, but they are flat and dry. There are these two long bags(?) Running on each side of her belly I'm thinking must be where the milk is produced but how do I know if they have milk in them or not?
I think that's all I wanted to say but I'll post more if I think of something. Thanks in advance for helping me find her due date.
OH! I think she is a Lynx Point Siamese if that helps at all

She is nearing the end of her pregnancy, and is therefore very hormonal. This contributes to her being very vocal, as does the fact that she is Siamese. Siamese cats are known to be big "talkers"!

In general, kittens can be seen and felt the last 2-3 weeks of pregnancy, but there's no way to know for sure when she is due without an x-ray or ultrasound. The fact she has licked the fur away from her nipples tells me she is nearing the end.

Just before a cat goes into labor you will notice that the kittens have dropped lower down towards the birth canal. When a cat "drops" she will look smaller on the sides.

You can put olive or coconut oil on her nipples to keep them from getting too dry and chapped. The white on the tips is dried skin or dried milk that has leaked. Her full milk will come in after she delivers her kittens.

Is she eating a good diet of both kitten chow and wet cat food? Some cats are just "diggers" in the litter box, while others are not.

Thank you for fostering her! Keep us posted on her progress!

She has dry kitten food and I'm going to give her some wet food tomorrow because I want to be able to watch her when she eats to make sure so doesn't dig in it.
I'll be sure to update as she goes on and post kitten pictures. I have a feeling she escaped from a breeder because I live in a desert and doubt that she was born a stray from what I see. If the kittens are all Lynx Points, my suspicion will be confirmed.

What do you mean by your first sentence?

And I think her belly dropped yesterday. I picked her up on Saturday and she doesn't look as big on the sides anymore

Talkingpeanut, she is digging in her food bowl so I didn't want to give her wet food while I've been at doctor appointments today. She'll get wet food in the morning though.

I remembered another thing. There was some clear wet fluid around her baby making area. Does that mean anything? It was there Saturday and Sunday as well. Does it help pinpoint how far along she is or not?

Yes, discharge occurs at the end and during labor. She should be in labor any day/time now.

Did she eat the wet food?

She picked the closet nest and I brought all the blankets from the other nests and put them around so that she can move around more and not get fluids on the carpet

Her nipples aren't plump yet so kittens haven't fed. It's been 90 minutes since baby one was born

The kittens should be latching and suckling to stimulate colostrum, which comes out ahead of the milk. Please guide them to nipples.

If the kittens are lethargic and will not latch, put honey water on their gums.

First kitten was born 2 hours ago and still no milk. What can I do to get her to lactate so the 3 kittens so far can feed

If the kittens do not latch you'll need to hand feed them with kitten milk. Normally kittens root around for a nipple instinctively. Please let me know how it's going.

We have 4 kittens and a stillborn. They are digging around trying to find milk. I don't have a car right now so I can't get milk from the store at the moment

Are they latching onto mom's nipples? You can put each one to a nipple. They should be figuring it out even if mom's milk is not fully in yet, they should be suckling.

You would need to buy kitten formula at a pet store. PetAg, Royal Canin, and GNC are the best brands. Then it is given drop by drop with a tiny, needleless syringe in the side of the mouth with kitten on its tummy like it nurses from mom.

Let's hope they nurse mom soon!
