On Friday my roommate saw my cat rubbing up next to a croton plant. I didn't know it was toxic to cats until she started acting lethargic and then I Googled it. She has been lethargic, trying to hide, crouch walking, and had dilated pupils. I don't see where she bit the plant and from what I've read croton toxicity usually results in vomiting and diarrhea. She has had neither. She's eating and drinking and her feces and pee look normal. I am going to call the vet tomorrow but am wondering if anyone has had experience with croton toxicity in cats or any suggestions to try before I call the vet tomorrow. I would have assumed by now, almost 48 hours later, that the toxin would be out of her system. Especially if she didn't ingest any or very little.

Poisons can take a while for full blown symptoms to present.  If you can call the vet now, I would.  I don't think croton is deadly poisonous to cats but it's certainly  toxic and if you suspect she's eaten some then I wouldn't delay in seeking veterinary help.  Take a leaf of the plant with you to the vets.  Cats acting lethargic and hiding is never a good sign.  Keep us updated, and all the best to you both.
