Please advise. My cat is about 8 weeks pregnant. She keeps pooping very often , her poops are soft. Initially I thought it's diarrhea but doctor said it's not. I give her proboatic for a week , nothing changed much. It's happening already for couple of weeks. She doesn't eat much and not gaining weight. I'm so worry , don't know what do. Anyone has similar situation ?

Can you get goats milk? preferably raw, but bottled / powdered full fat are OK.  If you cant, give her kmr (kitten mothermilk replacement).

If you dont have problems with salomonella in eggs, mix in a raw egg yolk with it, everyday....

Calcium - goats milk contains calcium, but you can crush egg shells into fine powder, and sprinkle alike salt on her food...    She need all the nourishmets she can get.

As you have contact with the vet, he can perhaps give you soemthing to excite her want to eat.

The probiotic fortiflora is renown for giving good appetite...  So fortiflora is foten given mostly as an appetizer...

What are you feeding your cat? She needs access to unlimited dry kitten chow, along with high quality wet food, such as Fancy Feast Classic pate-style chicken. You can also offer scrambled egg, boiled chicken, cheese, or full-fat plain yogurt. She may also need smaller meals more often. Has she been tested/treated for parasites?

My cat gave birth 4 days ago. It seems she doesn't have much milk and doesn't eat enough. What can I give her to stimulate milk ? Thank you

It seems my cat doesn't have enough milk. Is it possible to increase milk production ? Maybe goat milk. I finally found it

There isn't much you can do for mom's production if you are already feeding her unlimited high-quality food. We recommend dry kitten food down all of the time and meals of wet kitten food throughout the day. A dish of goat's milk is a fine idea.

You may need to supplement the kittens. Please weigh them daily. They need to gain 6-10g at a minimum. If not, they will need your help.

You need to contact your vet and ask for a shot of oxytocin to stimulate milk production. They may also offer an appetite stimulant to your cat. The vet can also check to make sure the cat is not experiencing an infection or fever that may hamper her milk production and/or appetite. Please call your vet asap!

In the meantime, please supplement the kittens yourself with kitten formula or goat's milk. If you need further instructions on how much, how often, or how to feed please let us know.

What are their weights and I can tell you exactly how much to give each. Begin for now with 1-2mLs each every 1-2 hours. The amount increases as they grow.

Tracking their weights is the only way to know if they are getting enough to gain since they also nurse mom.

The rule of thumb is 8mLs of formula per ounce of weight, so if a kitten weighs 3 ounces, it needs 24 mLs of milk each 24 hours. If given every 2 hours around the clock, it would get 2 mLs at each feeding.

Kittens are fed tummy down, head up, drop by drop in the side of the mouth using a small, needleless syringe.

What are you feeding your mom cat?

Is the Merrick wet or dry food? Mom needs unlimited dry kitten chow and several wet food meals daily while nursing. She can also have plain boiled chicken, scrambled egg, cheese, and yogurt.

Have you weighed the kittens now? Please post the weights.
