my cat vinny has eye infection on both of his eyes and my b/f and i have been giving him ointment meds twice daily since last friday. his eyes seem to have gotten better since, but he's still squinting and winking, and he doesn't seem to be as active & energetic, and he's either lying still or sleeping a lot...is this normal? we're bringing him back to the vet this saturday for a check up, so hopefully everything will go well.

One of the cats I used to own developed glaucoma toward the end of her life, so I do know a little about cat's eye problems.

No, I don't think this is normal. It sounds like your cat has some pain in his eyes because he is less active than usual, and is squinting. Taking him back to the vet is the very best thing you can do for him. Let us know how it goes.

Thank you so much for replying Lorie.

We haven't brought Vinny back to the vet yet but he seems to be all better now. He is not squinting any more, he's eating well, and he's being silly and playful like he used to be.
