The dratted hip has gone out AGAIN!  Called my Darling Doctor who has assured me that I can have more prednisone this soon because of the extremely low dosage, and that we don't need to consider a hip replacement until he has run through a few more tricks up his sleeve.  Pharmacy says they will deliver this evening, so all is well!

@Mamanyt1953  - Why is your doctor putting off hip replacement. If you're in so much pain, it seems like that would be the best solution.
It has actually only gotten bad in the last little bit.  This is only the second MAJOR flare-up in the right hip, and I've only had one in the left.  Early days yet.

@Mamanyt1953, I'm glad the prednisone helps your hip.

We went to a funeral service yesterday. I was talking to one of Dear Richard's younger (meaning 40) cousins and he informed that his children, (whom I fondly remember as being maybe four years old) are now 13 and 12 respectively; it wasn't that long ago that I saw their mom at the mall and those kids were in a stroller! I swear!

Another of his cousins has two sons who are both in college. Good grief, nothing makes one feel ancient as seeing "babies" in college. That's what happens when you only see people at weddings and funerals. There haven't been any weddings lately, but, unfortunately, there have been a few funerals.

And another of his cousins told Rick yesterday that she would see him on Tuesday when he goes to hospital to have a skin cancer removed from his neck. She's going to be assisting the doctor!
 Lord, we are old.

I told Rick that we went through "old-age" shock yesterday.

@Winchester   I found this quote.  I've always loved it.  It is from the Keltiad trilogy.

"IN childhood it seems time moves at less than footpace: A week passes like a month, a summer like a year, a year is a century; while in youth and mid-age the pace picks up, until at life's end the years hurtle by like weeks, turn, and it is Spring, turn again, Fall two years hence…No wonder old folk sometimes forget where they are, and when; hard it is to mount time galloping."

@ original poster:

I'm sorry to read about your health.
I'm a middle aged, and yes I'm not what I used to be. I don't mind. I'm way much wiser know. And I love to talk to peoplo no younger than 70. Most times you really know what's important in life, you really know who you are, you don't have to prove anything to anybody, you don't waste any energy on things that don't matter at all, and you're extremely agreeable, because you don't get into any sterile arguing and fighting. Very few things upset you. I really like you people for what you are.

Thank you!  Well, I'm not quite 70 yet, but it is staring me in the face.  I'm pretty much looking forward to it!  I have, however, reached that point in my life where I know who I am, what I want, and how to live peacefully inside my own skin!  Glad you popped in to speak with us!

You're welcome!. My ancestry is Italian, and old fashioned Italians deeply respect senior citizens, and those about to become seniors, for very good reasons that I already mentioned. It's my pleasure to talk to you!.

Ha ha. I once found my mobile phone in the fridge and I can't remember putting it there. Still, as long as I don't butter it and try to eat it

The second rule is, "when in doubt, take something out."  The first rule is, "always have a chocolate cake in the fridge."

I don't think that's as bad as walking two rooms over & having no clue why I am in that room.

I really hated when that happened while I was using crutches!

Luckily we can't forget to feed the cats, they are persistent with their food demands.

Well, today I couldn't remember where did I leave my glasses after I put gas at the station. And I'm nearing 50!.
