Maine Coon would be more likely than Norwegian as Norwegian are a little less common and much more angular. I am not seeing the really square features you would expect with a recent pure crossing. Also 6 pounds is about right for the age for a cat that will end up being 11 to 13 pounds which would be on the higher end of normal domestic but the lower end of Maine Coon. So if it is Maine Coon it would be quiet a few generations back.

I am going to throw out the possibility of Somali ancestor. The coat coloring is all wrong but the shape of the ears, head, current size and how fluffy the tail is..... kinda pointing more in that direction. Somali's have a ticked coat though so the tabby striping would be all wrong. But a few generations removal and mixing with a tabby at some point could cause it. Somali would be ruled out if your boy ends up being over the 13 pound mark and if that fur around his neck becomes more prominent than it currently is it would also knock out the possibility of Somali. Unless there is some of both thrown in there a few generations back.

He definitely is a gorgeous cat and I can't wait to see more pictures as he gets older.

The problems start when she realises it; then you simply change your ID to, "Pepper'sSlave."

Sorry. I always assume a boy because mine have always been boys. Rocket is my little girl and the only girls I've had. By the name you can probably guess that girl part was a surprise.
