My cat is 14 months old. He fell from the chair and I think he hurt his spine. Since then he's been dragging his left lower hind foot. He's in alot of pain so he's been getting injections. The x-rays showed nothing abnormal.doctors aren't sure if he'll get better. Does anyone have any information regarding this. Please?

How long has it been going on? What is the injection your vet gave? Did the vet x-ray the leg, spine, or hip area? Did the vet do different angles?

If he is dragging his leg that could mean damage to the spine or damage to the leg. If it has only been a day or two it could be just bruising and swelling that is causing difficulty walking and the vet was trying to reduce inflammation with the shot. BUT, even if that is so if it has persisted past 48-72 hours then it is likely something more than just swelling and pain.

If you can, get a copy of the x-rays and see a different vet. Take a video of how he is moving normally with you to the vet because sometimes cats will hide the injury around strangers and a look better than they are at the vet. Vets aren't perfect and it is possible that your vet missed something. A second opinion could come up with a diagnosis and treatment plan to help your cat.

Since the vet did not tell you specifically that the cat hurt his spine, this means that either he didn't or they do not know.

Either case, for the time being you can only wait. Or ask for a second opinion- I second @kieka above

Glad to hear you were able to see another vet and that they found it. Hoping all goes well with recovery now that you have a diagnosis. Having just dealt with a broken leg in my cat I know how scary it can be.

Thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.
