I felt the same working for Dairy Queen. I was never a big ice cream person anyway; but I came home smelling like sweetened grease every night. It was gross!
My great aunt used to work in the Fry's Chocolate factory. She told me that it took a few weeks before the over-powering smell of chocolate in the factory stopped making her nauseous and that after working there she never wanted to eat chocolate again.
Imagine that! It's just not worth the risk.

My mother once job coached a person working at a chocolate factory or maybe it was just some kind of distribution place. She came home with 2 pounds of chocolates. For some reason I think they were Godiva. It's been years and I don't know of any Godiva factories or stores in the area. She used to drive a lot for work so maybe it was a few hours away and has since closed. Or I could just be wrong. Either way; they were GOOOOOD!!!
My kids are participating in a "Chocolate Run" at a local college tomorrow. The culinary program is supposed to be catering the after run refreshments with chocolate desserts. I wonder if I get to eat since I'm just a spectator?
I only worked at DQ for 6 weeks and I couldn't stand going in there for years afterward.
That's exactly the way I feel about ice-cream! Sweet cold and a dairy product, my 3 least favourite things.
It is. Amazing how progressive Cadbury was in terms of working & housing conditions for his employees.@Primula
I've wanted to go to Bournville ever since I can remember. It seems so quaint and chocolaty :9:
