Hi everyone

So there is a feral cat that I am feeding everyday, she spends most of her time in my open garage. She really trusts me a lot and even asks for petting. I spayed her about 2 weeks ago.

I have been feeding her wet food, however the store that I used to buy the canned food from stopped selling , and other stores are really expensive. ( I don't live in USA, pet food is not easily available in my country)

So I am thinking of trying dry food, the store sells these 2 brands (Meow Mix and Nutra Nuggets), I am not sure which one to choose?

I read some reviews for Meow mix, some people say meow mix is horrible, others say the opposite. I couldn't find reliable reviews for Nutra nuggets, I guess it is less popular.

Can you please help me which brand to choose ?

Thank you

Of the 2 choices I would opt for meow mix I suppose.

To be blunt, it's crap food, but many many cats are fed this and it works as an inexpensive food, cat will be happy since the last process to make cats go for the taste despite the ingredients, they spray it with animal digest, which cats really go for.

You could always check about ordering food online like Amazon, but if this is what works for you and your budget and it's availability, it's food, she will eat it fine.

Always be sure though that she has plenty of clean fresh water to drink.

Glad she has you to care for her :)

Where do you live, if you don't mind me asking?  There are many members on the site who do not reside in the US, and may be able to help you find a better alternative.  :)

I am revising my opinion!

@Willowy  is right, at least that the first ingredient is meat-

Chicken meal, ground maize, brewers dried rice, maize gluten meal, chicken fat, dried plain beet pulp, fish meal, linseed, chicken digest

I should have looked it up before assuming it was the nutra-nuggets sold here, which is garbage food.

This nutra nuggets is made by Diamond, a much better company who makes several better quality foods.

VS Meow Mix-

Ground Yellow Corn, Corn Gluten Meal, Chicken By-Product Meal, Soybean Meal, Beef Tallow (Preserved With Mixed Tocopherols), Animal Digest, Calcium Carbonate, Turkey By-Product Meal, Salmon  Meal, Ocean Fish Meal, Phosphoric Acid, Choline Chloride, Salt, Potassium Chloride, Titanium Dioxide  (Color), Vitamins [Vitamin E

Notice nutra nuggets says maize, a nicer way of saying corn......

Ground corn, corn gluten meal are both high on the list of allergens for cats so be aware of that, ingredients in both foods here.

At least chicken meal is listed first and not 3rd.

Where do you think?
Catwoman is right. Also my chartreux got really sick from Meow Mix (her old owner had her on it). She was fine on Iams indoor hairball formula.

It's a cat not cattle.

Thanks everyone . I searched more and I found a store selling "Happy Cat" Dry food. Is this brand considered  good quality or not ? He also sells Happy Cat Minkas, but I am not sure if it is the same .
