Do you think it is a coincidence that there are not enough children for classrooms nowadays or that there will not be enough people earning money for when we need social security? Where do you think these people of gone? Millions of children have been aborted - that's where they have gone.
Abortion it seems operates on the principle that in a society, no one is compelled to go through any medical procedure for another. For example, if a person was dying and that only this person had the proper bone marrow, blood, kidney, etc the law does not force that person to undergo a medical procedure to save another. It is wonderful to have a unselfish woman who carry the child to term and give it up for abortion but one should not legislate for kindness.
Of course, this leads to another interesting question. Are you willing to support legislation that allows people who seek adoption to pay the mother significant amount of money to compensate her for the loss suffered other than medical bills? (quitting school, loss of work, etc)
As for the lack of children, the reason is not because of abortion but simply because people are more inclined to have less children. People marry later, concentrate on their careers, etc.
As for social security, personally I feel that is should be scrapped. Pay, plan and save for you own retirement for goodness sake. And for the other aspect of social security such as disability that I do not mind. But once you remove the retirement benefits you should have enough money.
