So Resolve just isn't doing the job.  I looked over all the spray carpet cleaners at the store and the ones marketed for pet messes specifically say they are for urine.  I fortunately don't need that.  What I do need is something that will remove cat puke stains.  Between hairballs and the occasional "I ate too fast and it's coming back up" my carpet has little splotches.  What does everyone else use?

Are you using the "pet" formula?  I've had great luck with the Resolve pet formula.  I have this scrubber thing--it was a "Resolve" brand brush with a handle on it, that you insert the can of Resolve into upside down and pull a trigger to dispense it while you scrub.  It seems that no matter what color goes down, it comes up an angry orange color that stains ferociously!!  This could be because we have ginger cats haha, but our black kitty hurls orange too--haven't figured that one out.  I think the brushing it in makes the difference.

I had a cleaning company one time tell me that it all boils down to what type of fibers are in your carpet, that the more nylon it has, the easier it cleans, so it could be the type of carpet.

Try this----I've also had good luck with mixing Oxy-Clean and scrubbing old stains, then using the resolve on it after it dried.  Just Oxy-Clean spray, like for laundry pre-treating, and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.  I recently used it for a coffee stain too.

Yeah I've been using the Resolve pet formula.  It's just not doing it, there's a definite color difference.  Not an extreme difference, but it's there.

Try pre-treating it again with a laundry stain remover.  I've even gotten desperate over some spots and used Clorox 2 scrubbed in with a brush if the Oxy-Clean didn't do it.  I have used the powder oxy-clean mixed with very hot water before mixed in a spray bottle, and the liquid oxy-clean laundry spray, and I think the liquid laundry oxy-clean spray did the best.  Shout doesn't work as well as the oxy-clean to me.

Wet the area with a hot, wet rag, then apply the laundry stain remover and scrub it in with a brush.  Not real wet, or it will soak through, but enough to get in the carpet itself without soaking it.  Let it sit for a while and then scrub with plain hot water.  Then rub/blot with a towel, do this until you don't see any more soapy stuff.  I did this with an exceptionally bad stain in my living room, then did the resolve and let it dry and vacuumed it, and it came out great.

I have a new spot myself I have to work on tonight.  I just accept it now, we have cats, they hurl, I clean.  But I really can't complain.  My dogs seemed to puke more than the cats do, back when I had dogs!
